A Day at the Lake

When we got up this morning we headed out for our morning coffee.  It is so nice to sit right of the edge of the lake with the Mallard ducks all wandering around looking for treats.

After Coffee we headed up the hill in search of cell phone service.  There is not much to be found down where we are.  We got to kill two birds with one stone.  We found some good cell coverage about half way up, and then finished up with a hike all the way to the top of the hill, where

Nice view of the lake with the camping area off to the right.  We are parked somewhere in the clump of trees.

I didn’t notice when I took the picture but there was a guy out on the rock island in front of us.  No idea how he got there because he is fully clothed with long pants and shirt.  He was not in the first picture and the second picture was only taken maybe 5 minutes earlier.  Maybe a male mermaid?

This is a beautiful little cove just off the side of the Colorado River.  We are about 75 miles downstream from the Hoover Dam on Lake Mead.

The afternoon was a little windy so a nap was in line.  Lots of sitting looking at the lake today.  This is the view from our side window tonight.  Kyra has moved to where the people were who left today.  A little more room for everyone.

  1. I see him in both pictures. He must have crawled into the second picture just as you posted your blog.

Wonderful looking spot there. I know Ivan (Roadtrip 2018)also stays in that area, right on the beach. Looks very inviting.

    Enjoy your time there.
