Moving Day

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

Now for all you sticks and bricks folks the words "moving day" is something you don't want to hear very often.  But when you live in an RV, it is a kind of simple process.  Susan wanted to try swinging RRV around so the patio faces the ocean, so we thought we would try it before we leave.  It took a couple hours to gather up our stuff and pack it away.  We had to do this anyway for the trip home.  I didn't even pull the awning in, because it just involved a couple movements to turn the 90 degrees.  We both think this will be the angle we park on next year as well.

I had to trim one of the prickly trees up near the wall to get RRV in there properly.  By the time I finished I was dripping blood.  The thorns are very sharp!!!

We are starting to put stuff away in the pool room so I shuffled things around in the corner to make room.  I uncovered Mr. Huntsman Spider hanging out back there.  He is a big one.  They are good spiders and eat lots of bugs.

I managed to get our laundry down to the Lavenderia today so we will have nice smelling sheets tonight.

The electricians came again today to finish up what they started yesterday.  They put in all new wiring in the power mast from the main line.  Should fix the problem.  I didn't see any sparks today but they still did all the connections live!!!

There are getting to be more and more people here as Semana Santa approaches.  The beaches are getting busier every day.  It is nice to see all the vacationers from inland cities.  They love to eat and drink and listen to music on the beach.

While I was downtown at the plaza, there was some sort of a mass going on and partway through the service, a couple guys got up on the mezzanine where the bells are an began ringing them with all their might.  At first I thought they were not supposed to be there, but quickly realized that it had something to do with the service and Easter.  They rang them as hard as they could for almost 5 minutes.  It was something I had not witnessed before.

Sunset tonight saw the sun completely disappear behind the island.  The countdown is on!!  Good Nite!!

More Friends Head North

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

We were up bright and early this morning so we could give Hubert and Bibian and John and Kirley a send off.  They are heading on up the road to Mazatlán for a few days before continuing north.  Wished them all safe travels and off they went.

Breaker breaker, lets hit the road!!

tight fit through the gate

Lots of goodbye's

It only takes moment after people leave to feel the emptiness in the park.  We are the only RV left with the exception of Brad and Julies trailer.  We wish them all safe travels.

We will not be leaving for about 10 days and here is the reason we are not in a hurry.  This is a picture from back home.

Joel was looking for something to do so we hired him to wash the screen tent so we could put it away, and he also gave the Jeep a good wash.  We have been down a lot of dusty roads with it in the last while.

good for another year!!

Shiny huh??

Outside mats got a scrub as well
We had a power outage this afternoon so after chasing someone to fix it the local guys came over and found the problem.  One of the wires had burned off so only half of our panel was working.  They fixed it and we were all back to normal.

Problem is up in the prickly bushes.

burned wire

Just after this sparks flew and so did his pliers.  Careful!!!

I got my tire and tube all changed yesterday so today I biked to the tire shop and got the guy to put a patch on my tube with the hole.  He has a little hole in the wall shop but was happy to help me.  20 peso's and I now have a spare tire and tube.

While I was there another man came along and plopped a couple of Jack fruit down and they started a conversation of some sort.  I guess they were bartering because the tire guy went to the scrap tire pile and pulled out 4 bike tubes and gave them to him and off he went!!!  Gotta love it.

Archie and I spent the afternoon doing what we do best both on the beach and in the house!!!

Our sunset get together was non existant tonight.  There are only five of us on the property right now so our schedules do not always work for sunsets.

And I always say that when the sun sets behind the island, it is getting close to time to go.  Well today it touched the island!!  We best get packing soon!!  Good Nite!!!
