After spending the night at Walmart we took our time getting mobile this morning because we had to wait a bit to check into VIP - La Feria RV Park. We headed over there about 10 am and in no time we ere there. It was only 7.3 miles.
We were met at the gate by Ruth and John and Bill and Edna. Wow we felt like royalty!!! While Sue was settling up the financial part, John and Bill took me and the Ponderosa to our spot. I'm glad they did because the spot requires some precise maneuvering to get into place. They did a wonderful job of directing me and we were in place in one move. This will be our home for a week or so.
We opted to do the daily rate and use our Passport America card which gave us 50% off the daily rate, which turns out to be cheaper than the weekly rate. That paid for the PA card for 2017/2018 in one stay with the savings.
We have a nice little spot under a tree with a concrete patio outside. Based on the weather forecast we won't be needing it very much though.
So there is a reason we don't spend long periods of time in parks. We don't like to be so close to our neighbours!!! (Right Bill and Patsy?) This was how close we were to our neighbour when we got parked, and remember the park guys directed us into place.
The only saving grace is that there is no one in the spots outside on our patio side. We will spend a lot of time in the Ponderosa anyway so it doesn't matter.

"Away" is a place not found on a map, but you'll know you're there when you get there. And then it happens. One day you wake up and you're in this place where everything feels right. Your heart is calm, your soul is light, your thoughts are positive and your vision is clear. Your faith is stronger than ever and you're at peace. At peace with where you've been and with what you've been through and at peace with where you are headed. A place called away.
We couldn't do it... Sherman needs his space!
