The weather has certainly turned around for a few days. With highs of 26C and lows in the high teens, it is back to shorts weather and calls for a lot of sitting on the beach soaking up the sun. Magnolia Beach is certainly a nice place to do that.
We get to watch a lot of interesting things from our chair and the ships never cease to intrigue me. Nessie even popped her head out to watch it go by.
The little boat beside the ship is an oyster boat and whoever is on it is loving the day because they have the Latin music just cranked. He is probably a half mile away and we can hear it just fine. The music is upbeat and makes you want to dance.
We saw this one go into port a day ago showing about 15 feet of water line above the water, and today he is coming out loaded with no water line showing. I should do some research on what they are hauling and where they are going. The ships seem to go out and about a week later they return empty.
And there goes "the little tug that could". You can hear him going, "I think I can, I think I can"!!! I'm not sure what his job is because we don't often see him tugging anything.
As we were watching the tug, the dolphins showed up and they were in a playful mood. They were jumping and standing on their heads for us. They did this until Susan went and got her good camera, and as she was coming out the door, they disappeared so no good pictures.
Sue and I had just settled in for a short winter nap, when we heard in the distance a bang and a clap. We sprang from our beds to see what was shaking the land, but all we could see was a great cloud of sand. Well what do you think that our wide eyes did see, but Roundtuit, driven by Ed and navigated by Lessie. We hollered to all on the beach, "See what is it" Our friends from the east, have come for a visit!!!! (that one is for you Patsy)
Ed and Lessie are going to spend Christmas with us on the beach!!! We got them all set up with a palm tree out there window for Happy the bird to watch.
We had a lot of catching up to do so that's what we did. Just sat and talked. We haven't visited since last November in Georgia so a lot has happened. Nice to be with our friends again.
We chatted until 11:00 so this was the view from our window tonight. A tug with Christmas lights going by.
Our Location Today: Magnolia Beach Texas Boondocking
"Away" is a place not found on a map, but you'll know you're there when you get there. And then it happens. One day you wake up and you're in this place where everything feels right. Your heart is calm, your soul is light, your thoughts are positive and your vision is clear. Your faith is stronger than ever and you're at peace. At peace with where you've been and with what you've been through and at peace with where you are headed. A place called away.
How did I miss this post? Thanks for the mention in your post! Loved the poem. We seem to be of like minds, my friend. :)
