NEXT DESTINATION? Parhump, Nevada
Another beautiful day for us to enjoy with friends. We started the day out with coffee at Chuck and Angela's. Because all our rigs are parked in different directions, we spend time wherever we find the right shade or the right shelter from the wind.
After coffee Angie and I went for a walk and while we were walking we picked up garbage. I took along my pickup stick so when I saw my shadow it reminded me of the grim reaper kinda. Very fitting because today is Halloween.
Of course during the day we got pictures of all the kids in their Halloween costumes. Even some of the big kids dressed up and I think that is awesome. Dani and Sheri were ready to go for treats!! A hippie just like grandpa used to be and a bumble bee!! No picture from Donovan. I imagine he is at that stage where dressing up is not the thing to do.
Then we got some pictures from Abby, Silas, Emma, and Lincoln. A chicken and dinosaur along with a couple cops!! They all looked so cute. It is such an exciting time for all the kids.
And there was Grace and Max. Hobby Frog and Captain America. The smile says it all!!
We also have a couple other ones that are truly a part of our family. First is our chosen Mexican daughter Kenia. She is definitely NOT a devil in real life!! And we didn't get a picture of Oscar this year. He is Kenia's younger brother.
And the newest addition belongs to Stacey and Gord. Stacey is our daughter in law. We love her like a daughter and she is a lawyer so Daughter in Law!!! Lol Oaklyn is just a month old and was born shortly after we left so we have not met her yet. Her gramma Donna will be pleased that she is dressed as a calf I think.
We do miss seeing them all in person, but the pictures show they had fun.
Michael and Sandra will be heading out on more adventures tomorrow, but before they do, we talked them into getting out their smoker and doing up some meat for us. Everyone supplied their own meat to the chow down. There was salmon, ribs, pork chops, and chicken, all done in the smoker and then BBQ'd. Everyone kicked in a salad and we chowed down. We marvel at how well we eat out here in the desert. Every year we manage to celebrate something with friends.
Like I said earlier, we hang out wherever we need to be, and we needed a fire so everyone came to our house. Sue made some tasty little deserts for everyone.
Another day has come and gone and we spent it telling stories old and new. Part of what we do is share our adventures with others so they can decide if they would like to visit the places we have. We also learn a lot from the others stories as well. We hope you like our stories!! A little quote that I like.
“You may tell a tale that takes up residence in someone's soul, becomes their blood and self and purpose. That tale will move them and drive them and who knows that they might do because of it, because of your words. That is your role, your gift.”

Happy Hallowe'en! And now Happy November! Ours is certainly looking much brighter now that we know where we're headed and soon! :) Your stories are always fun to read and I miss the little ones in their costumes. Used to love dressing up but living up here on the Ridge just doesn't feel the same with no one coming to the door! :) Enjoy! Those desert photos, shorts and the sun have me salivating.
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures and stories thanks for sharing.!
