This Little Piggy Went to Market!!

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

Today is market day in La Penita. As per usual, we need absolutely nothing except a loaf of sour dough bread from the "Bread Man".  We wandered down in late morning and checked out what was there.  The market is about half size until later in December when the plaza will be jam packed with vendors. Right now there are not a lot of people here.

From there, we headed over to Irma's for lunch.  We shared a BLT which was very good.  Irma does have good french fries.

Did a few things around here today to get ready for our first guests in a few days.  I had to hook up the water to the washer so Sue could start on laundry.  Now normally things are marked in Spanish with F and C rather than C and H.  I always forget that C stands for Caliente rather than hot!!!  Bad mistake to make in the shower!!!!  Ouch!!!  Every thing here is dusty and musty after a humid summer and needs a good washing.  It won't take much to get the place back in shape.

And the timer for the pool has gone on the fritz.  There is a spare in the bodega but unfortunately it has the same problem.  The plastic gears in the clock are worn and stripped.  Time for a new one.

Today we were busy washing the pool umbrella's.  They were quite dirty and one was broken, so I had to fix it.

Like a goose with a broken wing

This was NOT the fix but rather the broken part

All fixed

Archie and I headed out for our walk at about 4:30.  Our stroll usually takes us down to the estuary and I still can't believe the amount of sand that has been displaced.  Archie loves to explore here.

When we got back to our place, Jorge had just finished cleaning his catch today.  He got a good haul and he is smiling.  He even got a couple small tuna!!!

We were tricked into thinking we would see a sunset and then it went behind those clouds.  Very close.

And back home our daughter witnessed this awesome display of Northern lights.  Every bit as intriguing as a sunset.  Good Nite!!!

  1. A jack of all trades, Sue could make some serious cash by renting out your Red Green skills. Did you duct tape the umbrella? Lol
