Easter is Almost Over

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

This morning we visited Abuela's again for morning Birria.  It was just Susan and I this morning and Tina wasn't very busy so we had time for a wee visit.  She is feeling much better she says and I think she is starting to look stronger.

It was good!!

The Semana Santa (Easter) celebration is winding down and people are packing up to head back to the big inland cities and back to work and school.  There will still be lots of action this week but not like it was on the weekend.  Guayabitos was a crazy place to be on Friday and Saturday and we had no urge to go there.  It was reasonably busy on our beach, but not the party kind of busy.  We took a drive down the main street of Guayabitos today to see what was going on.  Lots of people on the beach and downtown as well, with lots of vehicles loaded for the trip home.

lots of vendors on the streets

traffic was on the move

bus loads of people heading home

but still lots of people on the beach

They sure like to pack their vehicles when they vacation around here.  There is more stuff tied on the roof of the vehicles than you can shake a stick at.

Because it is Easter Sunday mass was going on at the church as we drove by.  It was a full house with overflow seating outside.

Some cool down swimming this afternoon with Jen and Ed.

Then we headed downtown to El Pollito for liver.  Guess what??  No liver!!!  So we had spagetti and a club sandwich.  Both were very good.

When we got home, Archie was right there asking to go for his evening walk.   He knows exactly when walk time is and won't leave me alone until we go.  We got to see a nice sunset about the same time.  The sun has fully moved behind the island now.  Good Nite!!!
