Travel to Cape Coral Florida

We were up and rolling by 8:30 and first job was to get fuel just up the road from the park.  I was busy fueling and Sue spotted a McDonalds beside the service station so headed over to get us a couple breakfast sandwiches for the road.  She got back about the same time I finished fueling so she headed in to pay while I cleaned the windows.  When she came back out this is what she found.

Can you hear the burp?
So Susan headed off to McDonalds again and I took the dog to do his business.  That stuff seems to slide  through one very fast it seems.

We took the backroads past the park where we stayed and through Auburndale.

They have a lovely Christmas tree in the middle of their little lake.  It is really hard for me to think about Christmas when it is 24C outside although as you can see by the dash in the Ponderosa Susan is trying her hardest to get in the mood.

Our trip today was a pleasant trip on a not too busy road.  The southern Florida country side is a bit different than what we have observed for most of our trip.  We are starting to see some of the plant life typical of rain forest and tropics.  It is very pretty.

When we got to Cape Coral we parked the Ponderosa in an empty lot by our inlaws Paul and Betty Stickle.  When we were trying to decide what to do with our motor home while we went to Mexico back in October in North Bay Ontario, Paul and Betty said to just park it beside their Florida home because they were going to be there for that week.  We are so grateful for their generous offer because it is nice to know that your "home" and all your worldly belongings are in a safe place.  Thanks guys.

By the time we got all of the arrival visiting done it was dark so I have no view from my window tonight.  Sorry.
