Spring has Sprung

Today we can feel the heat starting to rise around Lake Mead.  Spring is coming fast in these parts and what they call spring is like our summers back home.  Because we are Canadians we relate to Celsius temperatures rather than the foreign heat (Fahrenheit) used down here.

30C is about 86F
As the days become warmer we are starting to see more and more flowers around.  The desert can be so pretty in spring.

Susan and I headed into Henderson to pick up her new adapter for the AT&T Mobley device she purchased.  This adaptor will allow us to plug it into any 12v power plug either in the Jeep or in the Ponderosa.  She ordered from E-Bay and had it shipped to the Henderson Post Office.

We also decided to pick up some groceries at a local Smiths Grocery.  We were taken back by what we saw in the grocery store lobby.  Not hard to figure out we are in Vegas, one arm bandits everywhere.

Back home we went and had a quiet time tonight.  I watched the season opener of Survivor which looks like it might be interesting this season.

Tonight we are at Lake Mead on Government Wash Road 36.12391, -114.8338 and this is the view from our window.

  1. Bill and I used to watch Survivor but then when they started bringing back people who had been on the show before, I lost interest. We don't have the interest any more. One arm bandits can't be as bad as two arm bandits!

  4. I love Survivor! I found out today that those yellow flowers are called Desert Sunflowers (Geraea canescens).
