Rocks on the beach

It was a beautiful day today on the beach.  These are the kind of days that make us glad we are here.  A couple of oyster boats doing the dance today and some ships going in and out of the bay.

And the little tug that could was steaming back and forth going about his daily chores.  He makes me want to go out there with a new air filter and some fuel filters and fix his problem.

Charlie and I went for a few walks today and while on one of our excursions he was standing waiting for me and I really noticed how crooked his one ankle is.  He is still walking ok, but we are noticing that he is starting to drag his foot as he walks.  You can see how bent his leg is in these photos.

Charlie has had arthritis in his front foot for a couple years now and we have him on some strong medications for it.  We also give him some pain meds when he seems to be in pain.  It is tough to know when a dog is in pain, however if you are with them enough you can just feel it when he is hurting.  The cold and weth is not great for him, so he needs meds on those kind of day.

Ed and I were out strolling and he showed me a rock on top of a fence post that he had found.  He said we were supposed to relocate it for someone else to find so I put it in my pocket.  The rock had a little inspirational saying on it.

On the bottom side it showed SEKansas Rocks Facebook, so I went home and looked that up.  There was nothing for SE but I did find a page for Kansas Rocks.  It is a site which lists a lot of rocks that have been placed around the country with some of them being moved and found numerous times.  Most of the rocks have a saying or happy picture on them.  They are meant to make you smile when you find it. Facebook is just a way to keep a journal of where it has been.  I think it is neat and reminds me of geocaching.

So I relocated it to the other end of the beach in hopes that someone will find it and go to facebook and make mention of the find.

So that is how our day went.  Most of the day was sitting chatting with our friends Ed and Lessie and making a plan for the Christmas weekend.  When we did finally head indoors this was the view from our window.  Looking out at the empty chairs, I was reminded of a show I used to watch as a kid called "The Friendly Giant"  At the beginning of the show he would lean down and say: "One little chair for one of you and a bigger chair for two more to curl up in, and for someone who likes to rock, a rocking chair in the middle."

Our Location tonight:  Magnolia Beach Texas  Boondocking
