Starting solar

It was COLD this morning. 4C on my thermometer.  I know your going to say that I am a Canadian and should be used to these temperatures and way worse, but the fact is that I paid a lot of money to come down  here so I wouldn't have to.  So because I paid, I think I have the right to complain.  So there!!!  At least my coffee was hot this morning.  You can see the steam rising from it.

Today Harold and I decided we should get some of the solar panels mounted on the roof.  As I wrote before I am adding a 4 panel solar set up to the Ponderosa with a little bit of mentoring from Brian Boone.  He is not going to get rich off of me because he is not doing any of the work, however he gives me any information I need and answers every single one of my questions in a timely fashion.  I view him like my lawyer on retainer.  I strongly recommend him to anyone considering doing anything to do with RV solar.  We had to start with cleaning the roof enough to make sure the glues would stick.

Then we marked out the position of all the panels and t started to mount them using some really good glue and screws.

It really didn't take very long to get the panels mounted and it was good to have help doing it.

Our friend Kyra arrived today from Yuma to hang with us for a while.  We always like having her around because she is the boondocking queen in our eyes.  She has be fulltime on the road for a number of years now and knows all the tricks.

We still have room in the circle for Rowdy and Missy who will be arriving tomorrow from Yuma as well.

We made time for happy hour which was nice because it was actually quite warm by afternoon after the cool morning.

Tonight we had an amazing sunset to end the day.  Life is good in the desert.

  1. Sorry I'm just getting caught up with my blog reading after dealing with our own problems.
Glad to see you are investing in your future but don't discount the need for a Generator on occasion.
If you're in La Posa South we are not far from you. Give us a Shout and we can get together before next Saturday.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.
