Yesterday we headed about an hour and a half southwest to visit with our son and daughter in law Derek and Nicole and their kids, who happen to be our grand kids. Their oldest Abby had her 8th birthday yesterday so we had a little party for her today. We took our other grand daughter Grace with us to help us celebrate. When we got there, we found out that there was a craft sale at the rink, so we headed down there. On the way back our son Derek decided to ride Abby's bike. What a card. They say he comes by it honestly. I think they are referring to me.
The rest of the gang walked along behind.
When we got back to their place we played for a while then it was time to carve some pumpkins.
Abby did one pretty much by herself. Pretty good for 8 years old.

Then it was time for birthday supper and the birthday cake. Nicole always does a really good job of the cakes and puts a lot of work into them. This one was a unicorn theme.
I got to have some fun with the kids today and got a few cuddles from our second youngest, Emma.
Of course they had to model the Halloween costumes because we won't be here to see them that night.

After dark we took the jack-o-lanterns outside to see what they look like with a candle in them. Really scary!! Good job guys.
In an earlier blog I had mentioned we were heading south on Oct 29th. Well plans we make are always in jello and it sounds like we will be leaving Wednesday morning now. The weather is going to cooperate by the looks of it.
Great pumpkins and costumes ... and of course cute grandkids :-)
