Every June I have to go to the heart clinic in Winnipeg to have my Implanted Cardiac Defibulator checked. It takes us all day to get there and back, with a generous helping of shopping in the middle, for about a 10 minute appointment. It is the neatest thing to experience because they check my ICD with a computer. No wires or anything. They say ok now I'm going to speed your heart up, and sure enough you feel it speed up and you get a quick rush. Then they slow it down really low and you relax again. I keep reminding the tech, not to press the delete button by mistake. LOL The normal life of the battery in this ICD is about 8 years so I will have to have surgery to replace it in a couple more years.
So for Fathers Day, my daughter Kaitlyn had promised me a pedicure. I have never had one before and she thought I might enjoy it. I have such knarly toes. So we went out for lunch first and then we headed down to the pedicure place for a "pedi file". Sue says that's a sick joke.
It was actually quite relaxing and they got my feet in fairly nice shape. Not sure that I will need one very often but it was an experience.
So to commemorate this experience I told Kaitlyn that we must get our nails painted. I told the girls to do what ever they thought and immediately out came the PINK nail polish. A little Daisy on top and they were done. I actually walked around in sandals for a couple weeks with my pink toes. All in good fun.
One of the things that has been annoying us when driving in the Jeep for a couple months now has been a ticking noise in the heater/AC fan. I decided to take apart the heater fan and see what the problem was. This is what I found.
Apparently this little guy had tried the tread mill for a while and couldn't keep up. Poor little guy was all dried up from being in the desert heat for so long. Well after taking him out, the ticking quit. It seems like there are always little projects like this to do so I am never short of things to do.
I think the toe nail painting looked like fun to flaunt.
ReplyDeleteToo funny. Good to see you back in blog land.
ReplyDeleteLike I said I walked around in sandals for a couple weeks showing it off. Amazingly, not that many people mentioned it unless I brought it up in a conversation.
ReplyDeletePedicures are wonderful and the daisy was a lovely touch.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a busy but great summer.
Safe travels as you travel south.
Celebrating the Dance
If you had a remote for your ICD, you could calm yourself down at night or speed yourself up when trying to get your work completed faster. LOL!
ReplyDeleteCute Pedicure.
Hopefully none of the little guys relatives come looking for him this year.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
What a great sport Lorne, and I love the daisy along with the color!
