Some Fixes and Shopping

WHERE ARE WE? Numero UNO RV Park, La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

Susan uses one of those blood sugar monitors that are connected to your phone that give you a reading whenever you want.  They are great to have, but rather expensive.  In Canada they cost about $300 a month, while in Mexico they are $2400 pesos ($187.00) for a month.  Now don't tell anyone, but there are hacks to allow you to use the monitor over again at least one time, so that cuts the cost in half.  Trick to it is that you have to do some creative things to make it work that second time.  So today I had to modify the applicator so it would apply the sensor in her arm again.  I had to cut the top off of it with a Dremel and reset the spring and needle. Susan is now ready to use the monitor the second time for 14 days.

The monitor goes on your arm or wherever it is comfortable for you to wear it for 14 days and you scan it with your phone for a reading.  'There is some indication that you may be able to use it a third time which would really cut the cost.

Yesterday, Susan made up a sign for Lilly to use at the fundraiser for Jeep (another local animal rescue)  They have a fundraiser and she needed it to advertise the T shirts they are selling.  Lilly came calling with a little gift for Susan for doing that.  It is a rechargeable electric water bottle pump.  We use lots of bottled water down here so it will work well for us.

Some of the girls headed down to the grocery store to get some supplies.  Not often Susan is in the drivers seat, but she was today.  They came back with lots of good things for suppers.

Its been 10 years since we were in this part of Mexico on a vacation from work.  Back in 2014 we came to Guayabitos to the Decameron all inclusive, and our beach vendor friend David did this Henna tattoo for me.  This was shortly after I had my Implanted Defibrillator.  I have always wanted to get a permanent tattoo but haven't got around to it.  Maybe one day.  Good Nite!!

  1. I hope the hack works!
I really like the idea of a battery operated pump on the water jug.
