We are on the Road Again!!

WHERE ARE WE? Winnipeg Manitoba

Well the summer is over in Manitoba.  Since the last post, we have just kept doing the normal things we do to run Cj's.  It was a great summer.  If you follow Facebook and the Cj's page you would see the awesome music we have every Saturday night.  This is my pet project and we have been entertained by some pretty amazing musicians over the summer.  Anyway, we have the shack all packed up and ready for a long cold winter. A little photo dump to record some of the things that happened.

Archie goes deep after a gopher

Parade Day in Rivers

Lots of people for "Music in the Park"

Julianna from Canada's Got Talent performs for us

A tractor parade came through the park, and this was my favourite

And Tim shows up at 6:30 am every Thursday.  I hate mornings but Tim makes them bearable.

Got the Ponderosa moved into place for the summer.

Handicapped accessable dock

We have an organization known as Friends of Rivers Lake and I am a member of that organization.  We raised funds to install a new dock on Rivers Lake and made it as accessible as possible for anyone with a disability.  We had a unique sign painted on it to signify that wheelchair fishing is possible from it.  I think we have the first dock of its kind in Western Manitoba.

Proud of our awards.

Safety meeting. Nobody moves, nobody gets hurt!!

This picture was one of the very few times I caught the girls taking a break.  They are the hardest working and smartest working girls around.  We are so fortunate to have them.

A foggy morning

And here comes that stupid truck again at 6:30 am!!

Stan Runions entertains

Lots of fires with Jim and Marilyn this summer.

So I was referred by my doctor to the Pan Am clinic to have my knees checked out.  Turns out that I am not ready for knee replacement surgery, but rather have been given a brace to wear.  It does help a lot and the knee is getting better slowly.

A trip to the Pan Am clinic to check out my knees.

It was rather humorous that I was at the Sports Medicine clinic because as most people know, I don't have a sporting bone in my body!!!

I must be in wrong place

We did a few renovations on the golf course this summer.  This was hole 18 which had basically rotted away.

Out with the old

In with the new

Kenia announced to us that she has a new boyfriend and he is very nice.  We can't wait to meet him.  Obviously she is happy right now!!!

Max delivering gas to the mower that ran out.

And  again that truck comes down the hill.  Note it is now dark at 6:30

Grace has got too big for the wee car but she improvised with a lawn chair.

Oh Oh!!! The truck broke a ball joint.

Time to fix it on site.  I still remember how to fix things.

Remember I said the girls work hard.  Here is the line up of tickets for the supper time service.  We have a 12 minute turn time on tickets if possible but that becomes undoable when the orders pile up!! One advantage we have is that in a campground, no one is in a hurry.  They just want good food.  Our motto is "Good Food, Not Fast Food"

Dani graduated from esthetician school this summer.  She has been studying for the last year to earn her certificate.  We were invited to join her at the graduation and supper.  Proud Grandparents.  Good luck in you new career.

Sheri, Dani, Dustin   Sheri having a wee nap!!!! lol

And me and Donovan were there too!

Speaking of Donovan, he kind of overshot and approach an did a slow roll into the ditch.  Mom's car is definitely a gonner.

Rescuing what we can.  No one was hurt

If you follow Cj's Snack Shack on Facebook or Instagram, you would have watched some of the funny video reels they have made over the summer.  This was Jill doing one about how hard they try to do their work but accidents happen.  They get lots of views.  We love that they take time to have fun while they work and actually these things are good exposure for Cj's as well!! Check this one out  Sorry We are short staffed

Jill is down for the count!!

Archie got a haircut

We had a staff windup at a golf place where you play different games while hitting balls on a driving range.  It was a lot of fun.

The gang

These 2 think they are bosses!!! Wrong!!!

Well we got everything all packed up and ready for the winter.  Now it is time to start our winter adventures.

And off we went down the road.  We are heading to Winnipeg for my annual appointment with the Heart Failure Clinic tomorrow.  We are meeting Karalee at the campground and she is spending the evening and tomorrow with us. Archie is in the navigators seat as usual.

We are staying at the Town and Country Resort in Winnipeg.  Nice little campground.

Good Nite!!
