Flea Market Day

Elaine sells lots of stuff in craft sales back home so we thought today would be a great day to show her a good old southern Arizona Flea Market.  The Mesa Swap meet was on, so we headed over there.  This is one of the largest swap meets I have ever been to and has everything but the kitchen sink.  I shouldn't speak too soon because I'm sure someone sells one of those too!  It was quite busy as usual.

We picked up some stuff that we needed or maybe just wanted.  We also saw a couple more interesting things.  Although I am not a sports fan at all, apparently the flea market gods think Sue and I should cheer for the Minnesota Vikings.  My name was spelled wrong but close enough.

And while we were grabbing a bite to eat, Barney Fife showed up!! This gentleman is from a local Dinner Theater and was advertising for it.  He was the spitting image of Barney.  Maybe if we get time we will visit the Dinner Theater one night.

Sues aunt lives in Mesa, so after the flea market we headed over there for a visit.  Grace went swimming for a while with Gramma Sue while Grampa tried to keep his head above water.  Elaine was quite surprised that oranges grow in Arizona and has fallen in love with their sweetness.  Its interesting that us prairie folk think the only place that oranges grow is in Florida and California.

Brenda and Don had prepared a super yummy supper for all of us.  Not often we get roast beef along with Yorkshire pudding.   Thank you so much for the treat Brenda.

They have a really neat Arizona Room that is such a great place to sit on the warm evenings.  Maybe one day Sue and I will settle down in one of these.

The view out our window as the sun comes over the mountain:

Our Location tonight:  BLM near Superstition Mountain, Apache Jnct. AZ  33.4602 - 111.5085  Boondocking
