And Back to Puerto Vallarta I Go!

So I spent the night in the airport last night and the first part of it was in the public part of the airport where there are no comfy chairs. I went and got my boarding pass for the return flight about 11:30pm.  Then I went and tried to go through security, but they said I couldn't go through because it was a day early.  They close at midnight but open again at 3 am so I had to wait until then to get into the security area with better chairs to sleep in.  I was lined up at 3 am sharp and was the first person through the gate!!!

The airport was quite noisy with no smoking announcements and no parking announcements so I didn't get much of a sleep.  A little here and a little there.  Tim Hortons actually opened at 4 am so I got a coffee and a breakfast sandwich so I had something to do.  

I did have a puzzling moment in the bathroom though.  It seems the condem machines have been replaced with tampax/tampon machines!!!  I took a quick step back thinking I was in the wrong bathroom, it was late at night, but no, there was a urinal over there.  What has our world come to??  Perhaps the condem machine went to the she/her/he/his/they bathroom?  I didn't have the nerve to go look.  Perhaps I could just identify as a dog today and use the fire hydrant!!!  All good for a laugh.

Well we got all loaded up on time and off we went.  Bye bye Winnipeg!! 4 hours to Puerto Vallarta!!  Oh I should explain that I needed to touch Manitoba soil to reactivate my 60 day Blue Cross Travel Insurance so I am covered crossing the USA where medical costs are unaffordable. I am in a high risk category for purchasing insurance and would need to have a $5000 deductible to purchase a plan for $5000 premium to cover me for 6 months vs a round trip plane ticket for $700.00.  So I take my chances in Mexico for 3 months because medical charges are more than reasonable here in Mexico.  They are about equal with what Manitoba Medical will reimburse me for if I have issues.  Only thing is I would have to pay upfront before being reimbursed.  So I didn't JUST fly to Winnipeg for a Big Mac Meal!!

As we transitioned further south, the snow was still on the ground until mid Nebraska.  That's when I said to myself that its way to early to start heading this way with RRV!!!

About 4 hours and 40 minutes later we landed in Puerto Vallarta to a Sunny 27 degrees Celcius. It took me about 15 minutes to get to get through customs and finally security and out to meet Kirly in the waiting area and we were headed home.  It was so nice of them to give me a ride home.

Gas has not been affected here in Mexico yet although it works out to about 1.88 a liter Cnd.  Not cheap to drive in Mexico.

I did get home in time to see almost a sunset.  I was gone about 28 hours total. The sun is certainly setting into the water now.  Soon it will be at the island!!  I think I need sleep!!! Good Nite!!
