I'm Off to Winnipeg Today!!

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

This morning started out with some work around the pool. Last night I put clarifier in and this morning the bottom of the pool was all fuzzy with algae. So I gave it a good vacuum and it came out pretty good.

After that job was done we went out for breakfast at the big RV park at Ceci’s. Drew & Leena and George and Henny joined us. Today I will be heading back to Winnipeg to renew my Blue Cross travel insurance. In order to do that I have to touch Manitoba soil and then I’m good for 60 days travel. that will get me back to the USA or medical costs are quite high if you have a problem so you don’t want to go without insurance So I caught a ride into the PV airport with Drew & Leena.

When I got to the airport, I had to go to the counter to get my boarding pass and was quite surprised. The place was almost empty no waiting just walked right up and got it.

It wasn’t long and we were boarding and ready to go. Lots of airplanes had come in while we were waiting to board.

Right on time

PV tower

planes lined up to go

A full house

I had a window seat and most of the time while we were flying in Mexico I could see lots.  Once we got farther north it was dark and cloudy. I got some neat pictures of the wing tip as well as some of the scenery although it’s hard to see.

We didn’t land in Winnipeg until 10pm so it was quite dark and there was this white stuff on the ground! I thought at first it was sand but nope it was a four letter word stuff.

Brrrrr. That is NOT white sand!!!

Welcome to Winnipeg!!!

So I had three things to do while I was in Winnipeg. One was to get a Tim Hortons, which I got as soon as I got off the plane.

The second was to mail a letter because I knew if I mailed it from Mexico, it would take forever to get here and it was just going to Winnipeg anyway.  There was a Canada Post drop box right outside the departure doors.

And the third was to have a Big Mac meal for supper. But that was a little more difficult because it’s about 2 miles to the McDonald’s so I had to get a taxi to take me there. He drove me through the drive-through and I sat in the backseat and ordered and paid and then he brought me back to the airport where I ate it. It tasted just like McDonald’s do, which is not that great but exactly the same as it always is. So my total cost of my Big Mac was just over $35.00!!! Worth every penny!!

You feel like you are in a cop car in back of the taxi

He took me through the drive through

Good old Golden Arches

Burp!!!!

I happen to notice that gas in Winnipeg had gone up to $1.49 per litre today.  (5.96 Cnd for a US gallon) Everyone is blaming it on what’s going on in Iran, however I smell a rat! I checked the price of gas in Minnesota and Texas on my Gas Buddy and both places were still like $2.59 and 2.74 (3.71 Cnd) which is what it was when we came down last fall. So why hasn’t the price of gas gone up in the USA?  Canadian prices are almost double that of the USA.   Perhaps if you can get by the orange hair and the sarcasm, they have someone running their country who looks out for the people of his country,  unlike our Canadian disgrace.

And of course, for Sheri, a picture of good old dad in sandals and socks.  I got heck the last time I did this but hey, its cold outside!!!

Today my sunset shows on the bottom of the wings of the airplane. It was kind of pretty pretty! Good Nite!!!

Well… I will not comment on the orange thingny thingny… You don’t want to argue anyway 😂 I find that it misses some deepness. Gas Price is gas Price, US use Canadian and US gas mostly. I don’t see how it is a sign of taking care of people if the price does not move. However, I want a Big Mac now 😂 happy you made it to the cold and fast back to the heat! See you soon!
