Quartzsite RV Show

Today was a really slow day around the Ponderosa.  Most of the day was just sitting and enjoying the sun shine.  Part of the day was spent looking over all of my solar parts that have arrived so far.  We have all the stuff we need to start the installation.

Because the afternoon was so nice it was a great chance to get up on the roof and do some pre planning for the placement of the solar panels.  We want to make sure we have them positioned so the least shadows will be cast on them when the sun is charging them.

Tomorrow we will be ready to start mounting the panels.  We are doing the project in small parts so we still have time for coffee and happy hour.

We took the drone for a little flight today.  In all my excitement to fly it, I never even took a picture and didn't realize it until the battery forced me to land.  Oh well there is always another day.

There are a lot of people starting to arrive for the big RV show.  The big tent has been sitting empty since we got here but today a few of the vendors seem to be hanging around there.  If you haven't been to Quartzsite before it is quite an experience.  They expect over 1 million people to visit the show over the week and 30000 vehicles a day traverse the 4 or 5 main streets of the show.  They tell me that the RV dealers sell over 600 units in the week here not to mention all of the other stuff they pedal.  It is a great place to see all the latest and greatest things RV related.

If you don't want to spend all your time at the show you can load up in your ATV and head out on the trails.
You can camp on the BLM lands and make the short commute back and forth to the RV show and enjoy the entertainment and learn why the UTV off road enthusiast's fill up the local La Paz Valley with over 50,000 UTV's every winter.  Over 4300 acres and 2500 miles of trails are available to you to explore.

We like the BLM lands Long Term Visitor Area to boondock, because it is close to town and has a waste dump site, water, and garbage dumpsters.  2 week permits are only $40.00 so it is well worth it.  Lots of friendly people around and things going on all the time.

And the best of all is that BLOGGER FEST will be held here in South La Posa on January 28th.  We hope to have a good turn out for this event.  If you have any questions about it you can contact Sue or I and we will try to answer them.  We are tentatively going to hold it in the covered pavilion just inside the gate off 95 highway.  Stay tuned for confirmation of that.

  4. I am planning to attend Bloggerfest. We left Quartzsite to set up camp in Ehrenberg a couple of days ago. So I'll make the short drive over in the toad. What time are you planning on getting started?
