Things you see in the Desert

We were just talking about the fact that we have been here over 2 weeks now.  There is supposedly a 14 day limit here, but last year the BLM guy said he has no idea when people arrive and when they leave.  We want to stay here until next Monday if we can because some of our group have things to do in the Phoenix area.   We do get to see some interesting things from our front porch on a regular basis.  There are lots of horse riders here.

And although I don't think there are any Amish around these parts, Ed and Lessie did see this horse and buggy guy plodding down the road behind us.  Those are the kind of things that we came here to see.

We have all kinds of ATV's roaring up and down the road and through the trails in the desert at all hours of the day and night.

And lots of Jeeps on their little Safari's.  I can't believe how they drive the living bejeepers out of these expensive toys.

There is even a guy and his dog who show up in a van almost daily and just sit and enjoy the sun for the afternoon.  About 5 o'clock he heads back to where ever he came from.

Lots of people come out here to have a fire and camp for the night.  It seems like Arizona may have a problem with an over abundance of beer, but everyone seems to be pitching in to try and reduce the overload.

And some just plain old cars and trucks going to find a quiet spot to ....... I don't know what they do, nor do I care.

We are so lucky to be able to hang out here on the mountain and look over our shoulder at Mesa, out our front window at Apache Junction, and out our front window at Superstition Mountain.  We love living here a couple weeks each year.

Here is the view out our window tonight of P & H's trailer with Apache Junction and a bit of Mesa in the background.

Our Location tonight:  BLM near Superstition Mountain, Apache Jnct. AZ  33.4602 - 111.5085  Boondocking

  3. Do the ATV'er keep you awake? Are they pretty close or just in the overall area? I'd like to take over your spot if your leaving in the next month...Hahaha....

    1. They do like to rip around late at night sometimes, but for the most part are respectful. We have to remember it is their desert too.

    2. Absolutely it is their desert too. I was just curious as not everyone is respectful of the neighbours or the land. I realize it's all dependent on who is there at the time and the turn over may produce less than favourable results but like I said, I was just curious.
