The park is just an asphalt parking area and is quite crowded, but the plus is that the ocean is right there.
After a while we headed over the berm to sit in the sun and splash in the water with Grace for a while.
Then Ampa had to work on some sand sculptures. A ship and a lighthouse were the sculptures of the day.
The amazing thing was that Grace never wrecked them at all. When sunset came they were still there and intact.
Although the sun was nice, there was a cool breeze on the beach side of the berm. Knowing we wouldn't be here long we made sure we sat there as long as we could. Later in the afternoon P&H came by and we went for a long walk on the beach.
We found lots of cool sand dollars and some nice shells on our walk. We plan to sort them out later and will leave the ones we don't want somewhere in the desert for people to find.
It doesn't take long to spend an entire day on the beach. Time just sort of slips away and soon it is sunset time again. Tonight I will share a few more sunset pictures. It is hard not to take pictures of sunsets like these.
Lots of helicopters in this area |
And of course sometimes a person comes up with the oddest pictures. I just happened to look down as i was watching the sunset and realized that my legs were glowing orange.
Tonight we are still at Silver Strand State Beach in Coronado California, just outside San Diego California and this is the view from our window.
