We were looking at the lake and discussing if the water level had moved since we were here last year at this time. Of course with Mr. Google around it wasn't hard to call up the information. It looks like the level is about 2.5 feet higher than last year. Looking over the chart I can see a high reading of 1134 in 2012 and a low reading of 1071 in 2016 which is a 63 foot difference. I would like to see it when the levels are that high.
Because of all the action yesterday walking the strip, I wasn't feeling too well so I went and laid down for the afternoon and the girls went to check out Fremont Street. They found an interesting spot just a couple blocks north of Fremont called the Container Park. It is a shopping center/playground made entirely of shipping containers. What a neat concept.
They had a sculpture of a praying mantis.
Fremont Street is Freemont Street. There is lots of action and music and street shows. The canopy is always a show in itself.
Thanks to Kyra for taking some of the pictures for me and letting me use them.
This picture made me wish I was there. Kidding. The outfits are gorgeous of course with all the feathers.
I just can't get over that view.....Very nice!! I like the concept of using containers in such a way. They looked nice.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how hard it is to walk around with those feathers on your head?? They look kind of heavy. Lots and lots of bright colors and lights!!!
Looks like a great spot. Interesting how what seems like a slight change in water level makes such a huge difference. I like the looks of Freemont Place! Deep down Grace wants feathers too. Look out Mom and Dad. ;)
