Kenia Arrives

WHERE ARE WE? Rivers Provincial Park, Rivers Manitoba

Today Kenia is flying from Calgary to Brandon.  She sent a picture taken with a big bear in Calgary Airport!!

I checked my calendar to confirm the time, then I checked my app to make sure the flight was on time.  Check check!!  I will be meeting her in Brandon and we will come straight home.

In fact she was almost half way to Brandon before I left Rivers.  I have a couple things to do before arriving at the airport.

I arrived in the parking lot just in time to see the lights of the aircraft approaching from the west.  They were on long final for runway 08 in here in Brandon.  It brought back lots of memories.  Back in the day when I was a pilot, I flew into this airport lots.  Many many touch and goes were practiced on this runway.  So I hurried inside and got a couple pictures of the plane.

In Brandon, it only takes a couple minutes to offload.  We took her carry on bag to the car and then back in to wait on her luggage.  It was sure good to see her.

Off to home we went and first thing was some good old Cj's for lunch.  A Lincoln burger filled the bill.

Gosh it is good to have her back.  Good Nite!!

Happy Canada Day!!!  Those words have a few mixed feelings for me with the mess we are in.  Perhaps it would be better to say Happy Day Canadians!!   

Just kind of a normal day for me.  I had to go on a pop and potatoe run today.  Found some cheap potatoes so I bought lots.

When I got home I had a Grilled Cheese sandwich for lunch.  They are so good and I love a bread and butter pickle with it.  Have you ever tried it??  It is amazing.

Today is an exciting day for us because today Kenia flies from Puerta Vallarta to Calgary as the first leg of her trip here.  She will have to sleep overnight in the airport because right now an airport hotel room runs about $450 a night.  She gets in about 10:30 pm and will fly to Brandon tomorrow morning at 9:30.  She sent us some pictures of her packing last night and a great one of Katherine!!!

I watched her progress on an app on my phone and she arrived in Calgary right on time and promptly cleared customs.  She will wander around the airport for a while before finding a comfy place to sleep for a few hours.

I woke up when the dog barked and looked out the back window to see some fireworks across the lake.  The town of Rivers is having fireworks next weekend but some of the locals like to put some off around the lake.  I just yawned and went back to sleep.   Good Nite!!
