A Sleepover

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

The ocean spent the night filling in the exit from the estuary.  I always marvel at how the ocean works and the amount of work it can do on a landscape.  The sand that filled in the exit was about 6 feet deep and I could walk all the way across it.

After our morning walk I got busy fixing a couple more things.  The salty air plays havoc with electrical wires and it is a good thing that everything is concrete and cannot burn because this cord was burned back about a foot.  I put a new piece of wire in and we will wait for the salt to do its thing again.

The burned off wire and plug

spliced in a new wire and plug

Next was to install the new pool timer.  The clock motor burned out in the other one and I have been manually turning the pool pump on and off.

We try to run it 6 hours a day

It came with instructions.  What do I need them for anyway??

We got our propane tank filled today so this afternoon Sergio came over to light the pilot on the hot water tank.  Really and honestly there is no real need for the hot water tank for the most part because the water all comes from a black tank on the roof and it is actually the right temperature for a refreshing shower.  We use our own propane hot water in RRV so we won't be using the hot water in the building much.

I stood back waiting for the "BANG".  Sergio says its all good!!

Jeff and Fany stopped by this afternoon to drop Max off and to show us the little Ouch Jeff got on the truck.  I'm not sure how it happened but Sue made a sticker to put beside the scrape that says "DISREGARD".  Jeff enjoyed putting it on there.

Brad and Julie and Cookie the dog stopped in just to say hi today.  They brought their friends from Bucerius with them.  Brad and Julie will be moving in to No Vista on Sunday and stay for a month.  They are a fun couple and we will love having them around.

Archie and I walked with them as far as the estuary when they headed downtown.  Notice that the ocean has eaten out the sand to create a path for the water to run again.  I wonder if it will be filled in by morning.  This was as close as we will get for a sunset tonight.

The clump of bananas are getting ripe real quick.  We tried a couple today and they will be a day or two yet.

Max is spending the night with us tonight and is sleeping in the "Magic Bed".  He loves his Lego and was busy building something before bed.  He is a lot of fun to have around and is full of questions and answers.  Oh yes and he is always hungry!!!   Good Nite!!
