John and Lauren Arrive Today

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

I found the following picture on the internet and picked it because of the 5 petals on the flower.  I was brought up to think that a poppy has 5 petals not 2 like the modern day ones.  I guess it won't be long before we do forget because the wars of yester year will be fought many years previous.  Ironically enough if you look at the picture, maybe it is warning us that the youngsters today are already starting to forget.  Will they forget the people who fought in the wars, yes of course they will.  Lets hope they never let die, the freedoms and rights those people fought for, and I hope they stand true long into the future.
We were tasked with getting the table at the palapa lowered so we can comfortably sit around it on chairs instead of the tippy cement benches.  So today the contractor came and had to cut the cement pedestal down about 10 inches.  It was quite a performance with sawing, jack hammering, chipping and grinding but in the end the job was done perfectly.  We will have lots of games around it this winter.

first a saw cut

then chisel chunks out

More grinding

and jackhammer

Finished product, perfect height

It wasn't long and our first guest of the season arrived.  I guess we are the first, but John and Lauren and their dog Emma are the first since we arrived.  They will be spending the season here along with us.  We will have more people arriving over the next couple weeks.

Lauren, John

I had to do a little electrical work on their plug because the ground was showing non existent.  Well it turns out that the ground rod was not making contact because it was really loose and rusted as well.  I cleaned it up and bingo, electrical was good again.

green light is good.

I have been putting off moving the Starlink to a better spot on the roof, so today was the day.  It involved a lot of rolling around on the ground under RRV and freeing the wiring from the tie wraps holding it under the frame.  I needed to do that to move all the wire from the front of RRV to the back so we get better reception.  Here is why I was procrastinating.  The old boy almost died!!!  Well I lost a little blood as usual.  I always end up bleeding when I work on things.

Its dirty under there
And of course I got a couple scrapes

Because John and Lauren had travelled today, we decided they didn't need to make supper so we headed down to Las Brisas for supper.  We invited Jeff, Fany and Max to join us.  The neat thing about Las Brisas is the sunset view with friends.  And it didn't dissapoint.

We had an awesome supper and the time flew by and it was time to head home.  Its always nice to walk home on the beach in our bare feet.

To end the day, friends of our sent us pictures of some awesome northern lights they are experiencing back home.  It is one of the things that is amazing back home, but the best ones are usually accompanied by cool weather.  Thanks for the pictures!!! Good Nite!!!!
