So I have said it before and I will say it again. When you get settled in one place for a while it seems the routine you fall into gets a little routine and if you are in the blogging business it makes it tough to come up with something interesting to put in the posts. It's not that we do nothing in a day but rather that we are doing what we do as a repeat of what we did yesterday so I don't want to bore anyone with those details over and over. Well today was not one of those days but I felt I needed to get that off my chest. LOL This morning I walked down to check on the Jeep. They had it all tore apart and he was waiting on parts. Hoped it would be done by 5.
The seal on this side was bad. |
And the ABS sensor was rusted in and broke so need a new one of them. |

Got home just in time for a second cup of coffee. I love making my coffee using the coffee filters on top of my cup. The Mexican coffee just seems to maintain its goodness doing it this way and it is a little stronger than using the Kuerig.
The other thing I love is the sugar down here. There is a good bit of molasses in it I think, cause it has almost a brown sugar taste to it. It sure works well in coffee and tea.
Got a call about 5:30 that the Jeep was ready. We were actually on our way to Abuela's for supper, so the girls carried on while I walked the half block to the mechanic shop. I was a taken aback a bit when he said the bill was 11000 pesos!! Oh well we needed it fixed because we have Karalee here and didn't want to waste the whole week fixing it if I had done it. It certainly was something I could have done, but sometimes sourcing parts is a bit of a challenge. Anyway, I only had 6000 pesos on me so he said take it anyway and come back tomorrow with the rest. He has seen me around and I guess he trusts that I will return. We both took pictures of the money so that was our receipt!! So we were on the road again with the Jeep!!
Abuela had invited us over for a traditional Mexican supper while Karalee was still here. It consisted of caso quesadillas and carne asada taco's with frijoles. Mmmm was it ever good. They were cooked over a wood and briquette fire which added to the flavour.
We had a fun time sitting an chatting back and forth and using Google translate for the things we didn't understand. But you know what? For the most part, we carried on a meaningful conversation with all of them without the translate. There are a lot of ways to convey what you are trying to say, and if we try to speak spanish, they are quick to help us out. We love our Mexican family. That was it for today. Good Nite!!
That worked out cheaper than it would have cost in the US or Canada.
ReplyDeleteSupper looked tasty.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
