Well today is the first day of winter, and if you ask any Mexican around here, they would look at you like you were a nut case!!! Well come to think of it I might look at you that way as well. It is certainly not the type of winter we have experienced in years past. It is 28C and sunny today. To my friends at home, hang in there. Just 4 more months of winter and it will be spring.
I had a couple wee jobs to keep me busy today. One was to change out a tap that had broken because it had rusted out. I couldn't find the water shut off, so I just changed it in my bathing suit and let the water spray everywhere. Here in Mexico that is ok, because the water pressure is not great, and there is really nothing to get wet. The water just runs off the tiled floors and the sun dries it up. Anyway there is a new sparkly tap in place.
the tap is side ways on purpose |
We had to make sure that site 6 is ready for Fany and Jeff and Max when they come tomorrow. Joel mowed the grass and trimmed some of the vegetation yesterday. I think it is ready.
A couple of things caught my eye on my walk downtown today. I love the construction sites. This is the third story of a building and there are no guard rails, and the cement on the edge of the floor doesn't look great either. Oh well, they will do the job and it will look great in the end. They sure know how to work with concrete here.
And Mr. Squirrel sat on the tree and chattered at me as I walked by. They are very similar to the grey squirrels we have back home.
Anyway I got home and finished my chores just in time to have a wee nap. I usually have 1 afternoon nap every week and this was the time.
Later this afternoon, Kip and Suzanna and Luna arrived. They will be spending the next few months with us in one of the suites. Welcome to our piece of Paradise!!
About sunset we started a game of 65. The whole game took like 2 hours to complete but it was fun. I lost.
After the game I headed downtown to spend some time with Kenia and Oscar. They were fooling around and having lots of fun. Kenia was not very busy tonight.
Just for my records I have 2 pictures of sunsets. One was taken on November 1 shortly after we arrived and the other one is tonight. The sun has been moving south across the mountains since we arrived and will no start moving back the other way. When it sets behind the big island in early April, it will be time to head for home. With that information I say Good Nite!!
