A Liver and Onions Kind of Day

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

We had a super lazy day today so nothing to report until I went for supper at my favorite restaurant El Pollito!!  Of course I had liver and onions.  Susan was not feeling good today so she didn't join me.  Was it ever good.  

I stopped by the Malecon to see the sunset tonight.  The Malecon was quite busy with sunset watchers.

Downtown was busy however when I went by the Cafecito, Suzanna was just setting up.  She quickly got me my favourite, a peach bionico!!!  

Back home and we watched a few episodes of Chicago Fire.  I think we are hooked on this series.  Good Nite!!!

Friends Come and Go Today

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

Sunday is Birria day for me so I headed downtown to find my birria guy.  He has a 3 wheel motorcycle with his taco grill and stuff in the back.  He makes great tacos and I just sit on a plastic stool on the sidewalk and enjoy the best taste in Mexico!!!  Mmmmm!

When I got back home, Brad and Julie were getting ready to leave.  Their time here has come to an end for this year and we will see them again next year.  They have purchased Ron and Lillies trailer and will be spending a few months here next year.  See you then!!!

Bernard and Monica arrived a little bit later.  They will be staying in the garden suite for the rest of the winter.

Today is the winter solstice. The days will get longer and the sun will start moving from left to right down the hill and up the hill before dropping into the ocean.  When it retreats behind the island, it will be time to head home.  As a note the solstice occurs at 10:03am.   I got to record the sun at its furthest southern point as John and I walked Archie and Emma.  

After supper, Susan and I headed over to John and Kirly's for games.  We played till about 9:30 and then headed home to bed.  Its been a good day.  Good Nite!!!

A Nice Relaxing Day

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

 We all went out for breakfast this morning up at the big RV park.  Ceci still runs the restaurant up there and does a real good job of breakfast.  Then I took Drew and Lena up to Jeff and Fany's to see their house.  We had a nice visit before Drew and Lena headed back to PV where they live.

After I got home I had a nice relaxing afternoon and a real good nap.  Then I took Archie for a nice walk on the beach.  The tide has gone out farther than I have seen it this year.  It makes for a pretty wide beach to walk on.

Yup, the sunset crew showed up again tonight.  We never get tired of the sunsets.

The group enjoyed each others company until it got quite dark.  Then we all went home for supper.

After supper we got together for some games.  I never even came close to winning.  Oh well, it was fun.  That's it for today!!!  Good Nite!!!

A Visiting Day

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

We decided to head downtown for Birra Tacos this morning.  We walked down to the Plaza.  The Birria guy was in his usual spot and we ordered up a couple of his best.  They are very tasty.

There was something weird going on out in the ocean today.  The pelicans were there in mass fishing their little hearts out.  We could see lots of small fish jumping.

We spent some time visiting with Drew and Lena this afternoon.  It is nice to catch up on all that has happened.  

About 3:30 we got a game of flyball going.  We had 4 to a side which makes for a lot of fun.  

Jeff was a little bit sad because he murdered one of our balls. He loves to spike the ball but one of the bushes beat him to the spike!!!   LOL

It seems like the sunset Gods have been shining down on us lately, because we are getting some good ones.  Everyone is getting in the habit of meeting on the beach for sunset every day.

We had reservations at Sergio's for 6 pm.  Louis, Candice and Freddie came here to join us and Drew and Lena for supper.  We walked down there and all had a wonderful meal.  Sergio always looks after us real well.  That was it for today.  Good Nite!!!

    

Drew and Lena Come for a Visit

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

We woke up this morning feeling like we were in prison.  The combination on the front gate lock just would not work no matter what we did.  I had locked it last night and didn't quite push the pin all the way in the lock and this morning it would not budge.  So out with the hack saw and we were free again!!!

Once we were free again, we went about our normal lives.  We had to go to Guayabitos to get some supplies and maybe get some cash from Remitly.  No cash had arrived so we went to the Bodega and picked up some stuff including fresh baked buns.  They were so hot that we had to put them in paper bags because plastic ones would probably melt.  Mmmmm they are good!!!  2 pesos each so we could buy 50 for the equivalent of $7.50 Cnd or so.

Then we headed down to the market to pickup a loaf of bread as well to get us by.  Lots of vendors there now, but they still say there are not as many people here this year.

For some reason, there are lots of honey bees around this year. Today they were at the market and anyone selling anything sweet had hundreds of them around.  They were in clumps on the tables and buzzing everywhere but no one paid any attention to them.  They don't sting unless they are in physical danger so they just let them be bee!!! lol

Drew and Lena arrived today to spend a couple days in the park with us.  They stayed in the back garden suite.  They arrived late afternoon so we all got together on the beach for sunset.

We decided to get pizza for supper and the girls got Drew and I to go get it.  On our way we passed by a mobile groomer on chicken street.  We didn't know there was a mobile guy.  Maybe next time we will get him to do Archie.

We went to Dera's pizza which is on the way to Guayabitos.  We ordered 4 pizza's and then we got to sit and watch them make them and cook them.  They have a lovely little restaurant in a jungle type setting.  We have been there before and loved the atmosphere.

We ended our evening with a little pizza party and some games.  Great Day!!  Good Nite!!
