We had a rare occurrence here last night. Rain!!!! I don't know how much but there were lots of puddles around. It was very refreshing and it will green things up again. Although we don't often get rain here it would be nice to get an overnight shower every once in a while.
And I always marvel at the front counter in the clinic. This is the only way to get behind the counter. You really have to do the limbo to get there. My back hurts just looking at it!!! Maybe that's why both of the nurses here are really short!!!
Oh and the reason I am out driving around is because of this pretty lady. The one with the BIG needle!!! Yup this is the last one however I have a follow up appointment on Thursday. She seems to take some pleasure in showing me how long the needle is. She is actually really good at needles cause I didn't feel a thing!!!

When I got back close to home, I noticed lots of cars lining the street all the way down to the ocean. What the heck!!
There was a gathering down by the ocean with a lot of people. It was soon evident that it was a church service. The Mexican people take great pride in making sure everyone knows that they are a God fearing people. This is what I found about this particular church. The name "Esiah" is of Hebrew origin and is derived from the name "Isaiah." It means "Yahweh is salvation" or "God is salvation." It is a biblical name that carries a strong religious connotation, symbolizing the belief in God's ability to save and deliver.
And because they are a Christian religion they, as I, believe in a baptism which involves total emulsion in water. Well the ocean has a lot of water so what a perfect place to profess your salvation to you fellow man. So they baptized quite a few people with a couple of them being late in years. It was a touching experience for us to watch, and one of the young ladies came over and shared some information on their church here in La Penita and some of the ones in the surrounding area that came here today for this celebration.
A quiet afternoon followed and about 5:30 we had a date to join some friends to walk down to Avanti Restaurant for supper. They specialize in lamb tonight. We had a great time with some new and old friends.

We saw some fireworks on the way home and wondered what was the occasion.
We found out as we passed by the church that there was a wedding going on and that was the reason.
As we walked downtown, the wedding party passed us in a Jeep with horns blaring and lots of festivity.
When we got home Sue and I decided a dip in the pool was in order. It is always nice to cool down before bed.
Archie picked a pool lounge chair and waited for us. Do you see him lounging?
Susan has been working on making sour dough bread with that recipe where you start this thing growing and you nurture it until you get it to co-operate. Well it has been a long journey to get to where she is tonight. So here we go. Hopefully we get to see a successful loaf of bread tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Good Nite!!
