We are going on a wee trip today. Our friends Suzanne and Jaquie invited us to spend an evening and night with them at their nice retreat near San Blas. We always enjoy spending time with them and it has been a couple years since we were there.

| Our route today |
We set out about 10:30 and meandered our way north for about a half hour before pulling into the small town of Platanitos to have some lunch. It is a quaint little village on the ocean and has some nice little restaurants right on the beach.
We found a nice table on the beach and that's when things went south....well for Susan at least. The plastic chairs sometimes have less than sturdy legs and as Sue sat down, I watched as the one leg bent back a bit and then sunk itself into the sand. The result was the chair tipping over backwards like in slow motion and Sue ended up in the sand. Good thing she was not hurt and I made here stay in position long enough to get a picture!!! Maybe not a great move on my part, but it was for the blog!!!

We had a great meal of fish and shrimp and empanadas at la Marinero's. It will hold us over until supper.

We arrived at Suzannes in mid afternoon and did the old catchup on all that has happened since we saw them last. The plan was to meet for sunset on the beach a little later but the girls went for a swim in the meantime. Only Sue and Jacquie braved the water because we are spoiled with our heated pool in LP that maintains 84F and this pool is about 75F. We get soooo spoiled.
About 5 pm we headed down to the patio that overlooks the beach. They have a lovely sand beach here with some rocky outcrops. It has rocks at both ends so not many people walk this particular area.
Just before sunset, the grackles all come to roost in the trees. What a terrible noise they make and so some people blow off crackers to scare them and they fly off to another area for a while.
So we sat and watched a beautiful sunset and took some pictures of everyone.
Supper was next on the agenda and Suzanne and Jacquie served up a super meal of SSS (Suzannes Super Salad) and Jambalaya. The meal was delicious and we enjoyed good conversation as well. Thanks ladies!!!
We sat and chatted for a while before heading off to bed. We had a lovely suite to ourselves and slept like babies. Good Nite!!!
