Water Problems Today

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

Monday and Tuesdays are the days when the pueblo turns on the water line and we get water in our cisterns.  Yesterday Ed and I were talking about how the water was coming in slower than usual.  We have been getting behind on our water supply in the cistern.  Well today when I checked, the water was not coming out so I thought maybe they were not supplying today.  I thought maybe I would check the valve and got a surprise.  The water started pouring in when I took it off.  The valve was completely plugged with what looked like crab!!  Oh wow.  So I will clean it out, but I am going to leave it off for a few days to make sure it is working.

After I got that fixed I got busy and washed my hands because Ron and Lilly came over with a breakfast sandwich.  Was it ever good!!! Thanks

I had to make a quick trip on the bike down to the pool supply store to get some PH+ for the pool.  It was a nice little ride.

Sunset was a good one tonight with friends.  Good Nite!!!

Tummy is Back to Normal

Archie knows exactly when it is time to go for his walk in the morning.  He allows me to have my coffee on the beach, but after that he will bug and bug until we go.  No different this morning.

Today my tummy is feeling much better so I decided that Birria might test it out.  So downtown I went to seek out my favourite birria vendor.  He was there.  dos taco de birria medio por favor!!!  I did leave the hot sauce alone today though.

Well the tacos sat good this morning so this evening I hit up El Pollito for supper.  I even got my favourite seat on the street!!  Great, I am back to normal!!

After supper I went to visit Kenia and Suzanna.  They are always having so much fun.  That was my day and I headed home and we will try it again tomorrow.  Good Nite!!!

Mens Curling Finals

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

I was feeling a little under the weather today for some reason so I just stayed home for the day.  This morning I watched Joel as he worked on the palapa.  Over time, the palapa legs have leaned more and more every year.  Joel put his straps and with the help of a come along, the palapa is straight again.  He just saved the owner a bunch of money.  I'm betting farming that fix out would have cost 2 or 3000 pesos and Joel did it for 200 pesos.  He is such a valuable guy to have around.  Anyway, it gave me something to watch out the front window of RRV this morning.

Not long after, we received an alert on our phones.  Apparently there was an earthquake to the south of us and we were getting the warning of possible wave action.  We never saw anything that looked like any extra wave action.

The rest of the afternoon was spent watching the final of Mens Curling from Selkirk MB.  Either team would have represented us well.

We almost got a sunset today but not quite.  None the less the sun went down and the day was done.  Good Nite!!!

Archie Gets a Haircut

It was time for Archie to get a hair cut and nails trimmed. I took him just down the street to a new vet who does grooming as well.  When I took him in, there was a kennel in the corner and he headed to it and layed down.  He seems to know the routine lol!!  They had him about 2 hours and charged me 500 pesos (39.50 CND) for bath, nails, and grooming.  I picked him up just before noon.  They did a pretty good job I think.  He came back with a little bandana and for some reason they put a little jewel right between his eyes!!!  Not sure what that was about!!

I got invited out for supper to Ron and Lilley's.  They had picked up Chinese food.  Lilley's nephew, sister, aunt and uncle were there as well.  After supper her aunt and uncle entertained us with a few tunes down at the palapa.  Nice evening.   Good Nite!!!

Electric Wire Bandit

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

Overnight we lost power for some reason.  I looked around to see if the power company was working anywhere.  Nope, no sign of them.  Back at the park I tried the lights by the public bathrooms and the light turned on.  What the heck.  No power on the RV side though.  We were outside the fence and Hubert called me over and said the feed wires from the meter had been cut!!!  Why is that?

After a lot of head scratching we came up with the theory that a bandido had come to collect copper wire in the middle of the night and he got the neutral cut and when he went to cut the hot wire, it grounded out and gave him a blast so he gave up on the mission.  We have decided to look for someone with frizzy hair this morning and that would be our man!!!

We called the electrician to come and fix the problem but I had a date with Kenia this morning.  Her and I have not had much time together this year because she is a busy girl.  She was joining me for Birria at the market today.  Her brother Bryan joined us as well.  It is sooo good.

After Birria I took a walk in the market and picked up a couple things.  I needed to pick up a loaf of sour dough bread and a flashlight.  I have lost 2 flashlights since we arrived here and have no idea where they are.  They had a led rechargeable that I think will work for me.

Next was a hair cut for the rough guy.  Its been about 2 and a half months since my last one.  Rosita always does a good job and we always do a photo op.

When I got home, the electrician was just finishing up putting the wire back together and burying the cable so the banditos can't cut it anymore.  Good job guys for getting the power back on.

One of the things we have been watching is the transformation of caterpillars to butterflies.  We have been treated to some really nice butterflies emerging, and there are still lots of caterpillars and cocoons!!

I have been playing a form of scrabble with Sue on line.  She is pretty good at that game and I can only think of 3 letter words.  I won at least one game.  It does pass the time of day.

We did get treated to a really awesome sunset tonight.  Good Nite!!!

I Hate the Ice Cream Here

Today was another relaxing day.  I did go get bottled water but that was all of my chores.  In the afternoon I took a ride downtown on the bike and got my self an ice cream and just sat and people watched.  The ice cream here is anything but good.  CJ's would not exist if we served this ice cream.

Archie has been getting quite hot with his big cover of hair.  Time for a grooming maybe!!!  There is a new groomer/vet just down the street so I set up to take him in on Friday morning.  It will be good to get that hair off of him.

Sunset tonight was only a partial one.  A little bit of cloud cover just let us see a glimpse of the sun before it set.  Good for today.  Good Nite!!!

A Beach Day

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

Most of my day was spent on the beach.   We have a lovely area inside the fence with nice sand and comfy chairs.  I grabbed a comfy one real early and kept my hands on it all day.  Wanda and Irwin came for a visit and Rhonda joined us as well.  Irwin and I may of had a short nap, not sure.  

Later we all sat around some more to watch another lovely sunset.  The sun is rolling down the hill quite quickly it seems.  Good Nite!!
