Always Love a Bionico

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

Susan reports that she had a good sleep and is now setting up a schedule of all the things she wants and needs to do.  She hopes to visit all of the kids while she is there, but her main job is to get Karalee back on her feet.  She sent me some pictures of her departure last night from PV.  

I continued on doing what I normally do around here and todays job was to get some propane for the house.  

Then a yummy little late lunch from the taco stand downtown.  

I took another trip downtown in the evening for a peach bionico from Suzanna at the Cafecito.  She is always such an upbeat person.  And her daughter Soy has lots of smiles too.

We didn't see an actual sunset tonight, not because of cloud or anything else but rather because I was busy talking when I should have been listening.  Oh well, I'm sure there will be another one sometime.

Susan Heads to Winnipeg

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

Today Susan will be heading back to Manitoba.  Our daughter Karalee has been through some medical problems this winter and just needs a little "Mom" time.  She may not agree but I think Susan can help her get back on her feet.  Susan will be staying for however long it takes which may be up to 3 weeks.  I hope Karalee takes advantage of the help she brings.  Susan headed into PV with John and Kirly around noon for her 5:30 flight.

While I was sick, the pool got out of hand so yesterday I shocked it and then added clarifier later in the day.  It got to settle the algae overnight and we had to vacuum it this morning.  Ed took over the vacuum duties to help me out and Jen provided the supervision from above.  I think we got it all back under control.  This process takes lots of water because everything you vacuum goes straight outside through an inch and a half pipe, so pool levels drop fast. 

Of course because we are using a lot of water, I check the cistern and find out that we have not been receiving our regular allotment of town water and after checking with Sergio, it is possible that the line may not be fixed in time for tomorrow's allotment either.  So Ed and I decided that we would order up a truck load of water to make sure we have enough to get through to Friday.  It never rains but what it pours.

With that accomplished I got to sit on the beach with my feet up for a while.  The pelicans were having a hay day scooping up a school of small fish out front.  We also got to watch some whale action with the long eyes (binoculars)!

I had an Amazon package for me today.  I had ordered a new charger for my computer and that's what it was.  Now I won't have to fight to get my computer to charge.

This afternoon the neighbours are having a big birthday party.  They have set up for about 100 people and the action started in mid afternoon.  Lilly and I sat out on our front beach and listened to the music for an hour or so.  Because they are older people, the music is what we like and can wiggle our toes to.  

The beach people were taking advantage of the good music as well.  

We sat and listened until it was dark.  The party actually only went to about 8 pm.  

We had a rare sighting of lightning out over the mountains tonight.  We have not saw lightning here very often so we enjoyed it while it lasted.  Susan landed in Winnipeg about 10:30 safe and sound.  That's it for today.  Good Nite!!!

Northern Friends Arrive

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

Sunday morning and there is still coughing and hacking going on, but both of us felt good enough to get our butts out of bed.  It has been a different sickness with fatigue being the underlying problem.  We will survive.  We have to get some things done today because we are way behind.  First things first was coffee on the beach and look who showed  up.  Yup Irwin and John dropped by for a quick visit.

They had a care package at our place so I went with them to their condo up the street to deliver it with the bike.  I had to stop in and see the girls while I was there.  They are all pretty and sporting their Canadian white tans.  

We have a plan to do supper at Sergio's with them but right now my tummy is lacking food so I headed down to El Pollito for a quick burger.

We looked forward to having supper with John and Susan and Irwin and Wanda after they arrived here yesterday for a nice winter break.  We will see them often we hope.

Sergio has taken all the precautions needed for our safety and we sit on the side of the street kinda in the traffic lane.  We will be fine.  We had an awesome time catching up with them.  

Today we did get to see a bit of a sunset tonight.  We always look forward to that.  Good Nite!!

SICK

Susan was actually in Bed from mid afternoon on Monday until Saturday Morning.  I was in bed from Wednesday afternoon on and hope to be better for Sunday Just crazy worn out and some coughing and sneezing.  Good Nite!!!!

A Burrito and a Puppy

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

After spending yesterday feeling lousy and laying down and getting up, today Susan went down for the count.  She has a nasty cough and congestion.  I hardly saw her at all today.  Hope she gets better soon.  I tinkered around doing pool chores.  One of the filters is often ignored so today was the day to give it some attention.  It had gathered quite a bit of junk since last cleaning, so that means it is doing its job.

After that I got busy and gave the pool a good vacuuming.  It has been staying relatively clean this year for some reason.  

A nap and some visiting on the beach and it was supper time.  Susan will not be participation in supper for a couple days so downtown I went to find a burrito.  I know just where to find it!!!  Mmmmm good.  Add to that a Jamaica and it is a full meal deal.  McDonalds should try it on their menu!!!

The owner was talking with some of us at the tables and was quite a jokester.  When I was ready to leave on my bike, he insisted on putting a puppy that had been bothering us through supper, In my bike basket.  It was the cutest thing and just sat there like he was ok coming home with me.  Nope, don't think Archie would approve.

It almost looked like there would be some sort of a horse event tonight but I didn't have the time to hang around and find out.  I will hear about it later if there was.

Instead I went home and spent the evening watching some Ice Pilots NWT for the rest of the night

Cream Good Before Dates are Fictitious

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

I had to head down to the store this morning to buy some coffee cream.  This time of the month seems like it can be hit or miss on how long the cream has been around and how much life it has left.  Well I certainly made a bad investment as both of these turned bad the very next day.  I did manage to get a nice bike ride down town and back.

Something we had a hankerin for was some nice stir fried veggies.  The have so many nice vegetables here but we get carried away with taco's and the like and forget about the veggies.  Tonight's supper was really good with a sausage added in later.  Sue has been coming down with a strange cold today. It has her spending lots of time in bed but she still managed to make us a nice supper.

A nice little walk with Archie to see all his friends after supper.

We actually did get to see a really nice sunset tonight so that was the highlight of our day.  Good Nite!!

Flyball Day Today

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

We have been having some big waves here as of late.  There is lots of white foam coming from the crashing waves.  This always reminds me of Suzanne who always said 'Where does the white go?" I managed to catch Jen with the dogs out on the beach this morning.

Over by the pool, we spotted a couple of Butterflies taking a break.  I wonder if they are on the migration of the monarchs?  They are sure pretty.

I had to take a few minutes and change out a shower head in the shower.  The old one was leaking bad enough that it was unusable.

I had to make a run downtown for some rice and some cream today.  We are going to order Chinese tonight so we want some white rice with it.  By the way, both quarts of cream turned out to be sour!!!

This afternoon we had enough people around to have a game of flyball.  5 games to be exact!!!  We had a lot of fun.

Archies friend base is growing quickly.  He got to meet them all today on our walk.

Sunset was a little different tonight because there were low clouds so we had to settle for watching it set behind the clouds.  Good Nite!!!
