WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico
Today started like no other with birria from my favourite street vendor. Birria is a favourite breakfast food for a lot of Mexicans. Birria is a regional variation of barbacoa from western Mexico, mainly made with goat, beef or lamb. The meat is marinated in an adobo made of vinegar, dried chiles, garlic, and herbs and spices (including cumin, bay leaves, and thyme) before being cooked in a broth. The birria here is made with beef generally and the broth is what gives it the very aggressive flavour.

After lunch we had another Flyball game. Today we are having a little get together because Ron and Lilly will be leaving us tomorrow. So we were all here as well as Jeff, Fany and Alexi and Max, so there were actually 5 people on each team with a couple left over. Each team won a couple games.

Lilly spent some time visiting with her canine friends. She is loved by all the dogs here.
Today was the horse parade in town. Its when about 150 horses start off in Los Ayala and tour through Rincon Guayabitos and end up at the old bull ring in La Penita. I was late getting there but stole this picture of some of the horses. I did drive by the bull ring later where the party was going on, but the music was waaaaay too loud for me, so I just kept on going.

Sunset was great tonight and Max wanted his dinosaur to be part of it!! Why not? Good Nite!!!
