Although we are not in the big action in Mexico today, we certainly are on the main road that would be
travelled by anyone traversing from Guadalajara to Puerto Vallarta. For the record, this morning authorities terminated the big boss of the Jalisco Cartel, El Mencho in the town of Tapalpa Jalisco. The town is south of Guadalajara . Reports are now coming out that there were quite a few authorities killed as well in the take down. Retaliation began to erupt all along the corridor from Guadalajara to Puerto Vallarta this morning with lots of burning of vehicles and many Oxxo convenience stores in both cities and along the route. There have been no confirmed injuries to the public in the retaliation so what everyone saw today in PV was major theatrics by lots of cartel to show their anger. Because the acts were quite random, the entire state of Jalisco and Nayarit (where we are) were in lockdown with everyone advised to stay home. All businesses and services were closed and remain closed tonight. As I write this, things have calmed and we are hopeful tomorrow will see things start to open up. Bottom line is that we are safe and were never in any sort of danger today. It turned out to be a full day of Facebook and what a gong show that is.

Mostly done for blocking roads to hamper police efforts

Everyone was force to leave their vehicle BEFORE it was torched so no one was injured.

I think a bit of AI for effects lol but fairly accurate. I wonder if they send the cartel a bill for the busses?
Nice and quiet here today as everyone was tired from watching the hockey game this morning and of course because we are kinda on lockdown. By the way Canada won silver!!
I have had a sore back for a couple days and today it was worse than usual so it felt good to lay down and I had all the time in the world to do just that.
I hope tomorrow will be a better day for everyone. Remember we are in Mexico and things are different here. It is still paradise and sunsets are amazing!! Good Nite!!!
