A Little Farther Down the Road

WHERE ARE WE? Las Palmas Midway Inn, Matahuala, Mexico

Another travelling day today.  We are heading north again today for about 600 kms.  Me and my travel companion settled in for a long drive.

Everyone settled in to their favorite chair for the day and only got up to get a drink or bathroom break.

Sue did try to wander around for a bit, but its really hard on the rough roads today.

Actually we did go around a corner a little quick today and Sue was not prepared and slid right out of the chair onto the floor!!  Seatbelts you say!!   Never heard of them.  Lol.

Dani even got a little studying in today.  Good job!!!

A little later Dani was sitting in her new hammock chair which is hanging from a hook in the ceiling. It is a comfy chair.....until.....

until.. the loop comes off the hook up above.  We heard a thump and looked to see Dani in a pile on the floor.  She will have a sore butt for a day or two I'm sure.

We went through and area today which is on the migration route of the Monarch Butterfly.  I'm not sure when the northward migration happens, but there were no butterflies around today.

Sheri spent a lot of the afternoon get things in order for her new venture when we get home.  She will be opening a Cj's in Hamiota, which is a neighbouring town to us, at their golf course.  We are all looking forward to helping her get this one up and running.  Here is a sneak peek at the new logo!!

When we arrived in Matahuala about 4:30, the first people we saw were Luis, Candice and Journey from La Penita.  They are heading to Calgary via Texas and got a hotel room here.  What a nice surprise.  I said to Sheri that it is so neat to travel half way across Mexico and run into someone we know.  This is the RV life!!

Today is my birthday so we all decided to go out for supper tonight.  On the way we saw this pretty tree by the old building.  Many of the trees are in full flower at this time of year and the colours are brilliant.

We went to a neat restaurant across the street from the hotel and had a lovely supper.  I had Prime rib which was like a steak really.  It was good but not prime rib.  A real nice time with good friends.

Thanks to everyone who wished me Happy Birthday but I really need to quit counting the years.  I only hope for good health to celebrate with family and friends for years to come.  Good Nite!!
Here is our route today.  We will cross into Texas tomorrow.

  2. Happy belated birthday. I shouldn't think falling is funny but Sue and Dani did give me a chuckle. Safe travels.

  3. I do believe I stayed in Las Palmas 40 years ago. (Not in an RV though.) It was a good place after a long day on the road. Nice to see that it still is.
