We are Checking out San Antonio

WHERE ARE WE? South Texas Mobile RV & Truck Repair, Lytle, Texas

The girls wanted me to show off their comfy beds.  They had thought they were going to sleep on the floor, but have opted for the chairs.  Looks comfortable doesn't it.

Today they were ordering a new fuel sensor and changing all the fuel filters.  The first one they changed showed a lot of black crud in it.  Oh Oh!!  They poured more of the filter diesel into a clear jug and it was not good.  It even had a distinct smell of gasoline.  Not enough to do damage but still shows that some Mexican fuel is contaminated.

They now have to get set up to flush the tank.  Also there is a fuel sensor on order which should be here tomorrow.  I helped them move the Motorhome around back to the cement pad outside the shop to drain the fuel.  Just a much better place to work.

So the decision was immediately made to drain and flush the fuel tank.  We had about a quarter tank of fuel left so about 30 gallons to get rid of.

They had to flush it with diesel fuel after it was drained so another 30 gallons of diesel or so was put through it.  Anyway we left it in their capable hands to find out what the problem really is and fix it.  They truck says they can!!!

We headed for San Antonio and Wayne and George got the Motorhome tank all flushed and new filters on and took it for a drive.  It was much better they said but still had hesitations and some loss of power. They checked for faults and it showed a fuel sensor error still on the second sensor.  They don't have one so they will order one.  It won't be here until Monday.

There is not much we can do here so we decided to head into San Antonio to do some of the things we were going to do here even before the Motorhome broke down.  So we have decided to stay in a hotel so we can do some night time things so we decided to find a place for Archie for a few days.  Sue and Sheri found a place and delivered him there while I was helping get the Motorhome moved to a good place.

San Antonio has a lot of traffic in the afternoon.  Good thing I have good navigators.

We found an awesome hotel to stay in that had a pool and some games in the pool area.  It is very close to the downtown so we can walk to the riverwalk and all the attractions.

Shortly after we got checked in, our phones started ringing like crazy with weather alerts.  Then it rained like mad for a couple hours.

We decided to find a BBQ but it was already 8 pm before the rain quit enough that we could get out of the hotel.  Almost all of the BBQ places were sold out by then.  I was surprised that they don't have more meat rather than run out.  Pinkertons is supposedly the best one in the city.

We finally settled on going to Denny's about 10 pm.  You can always count on Denny's except for Christmas dinners.  (A little inside joke for Lessie!!)

So we are settled in our hotel here in San Antonio.  Good Nite!

  2. Looks like some fun was had while you wait. I know all to well about gas in the diesel fuel, though mine was self inflicted. Hope your sensors arrive soon and you are on your way, safe travels.

  4. What a day! Hopefully things go well with the Ponderosa. I know you folks will enjoy your time in SA. Sherri and Dani look a bit frazzled, travelling can be tough work.
