Archie Get A Bit of Grooming.

WHERE ARE WE? Magnolia Beach, Texas

The winds have subsided finally and this morning is absolutely beautiful here on the beach.  We don't get to enjoy it because we have to head for Victoria because Archie has a grooming appointment.  He is looking a bit of a scruff and the main reason is because he sheds when his hair gets long.  The motorhome is like one big fur ball right now.

He loves to ride in the Jeep and watch for cows along the way.  He doesn't bark if we have the bark collar on him.

We dropped him off at Pet Smart at about 10:30 and they said it would be about 4 hours before he would be ready.  We had a little chat about Archies bad habits and they were not too concerned.  Good luck!!

We were hungry so we headed for Denny's which was right across the street.  For all of you loyal followers, you might remember we had a Christmas dinner at Denny's in Victoria with Ed and Lessie back in 2017 and we all got a touch of food poisoning.  Well this was that same Denny's but we decided to risk it again.  The breakfast was great with no side effects today.

Then it was off to Victoria Mall to waste some time.  Best Buy, Hobby Lobby, and JC Penny, all of my favorite stores.  I walked the mall and then went to the car for a while.

Then a stop at Sam's Club for some supplies.  They had one of those remote floor washers and I hunted all over the store for a Teddy Bear to put in the seat, but there were none.

We got the call to come for Archie about 3 pm.  The little turkey allowed them to bath him and cut most of his hair, but he was having nothing to do with the front feet or his head, and trimming nails was out of the question.  We think maybe we need to get some grooming shears and just do him ourselves.  He has no problem with us doing his head and feet.  Maybe we will discover a new talent and make some cash at it.

I spent the evening purchasing our Mexican Insurance for our vehicles.  I opted to buy the insurance through Bill Bell this year as he is a little more readily available to talk to if we have problems.  When we brought the old Jeep, I just bought liability insurance on it so that saved a few hundred dollars, but the new Jeep had to have full insurance so it was about 450 US for 6 months.  Still not much really and then the Motorhome was about 650 so 1100 for 6 months.  Actually we will get almost all of that back when we apply for the credit for our Manitoba Insurance so it is not really an extra cost.

Next up was renewing our Coachnet.  This is like CAA but for motorhomes and whatever else we own for vehicles.  We have had to use it Twice now so it has more than paid for itself.   Towing Motorhomes is not cheap.  It covers a lot of other things which we never think about, like boosts, lockouts, emergency tire repairs and also offers a discount on buying tires.  Well worth it.

This evening we just chilled at home.  I did see another ship come in to port.  We are loving it here.

There is some sort of special moon tonight going on.  It is like a harvest moon but is only half a moon.  Very big and very orange.   Better than a sunset!!! Good Nite!
