If you remember my closing picture yesterday it was of the flame at the Petro plant across the bay from us. Well this morning was humid enough and cool enough that a cloud hung over it for about an hour. I just thought it was a cloud at first but then I realized it was the flame. Lots of heat coming from it I guess.
Now a little story. About 4 days ago we ordered a new inverter for the motorhome and they said it would arrive on Friday. We knew that was cutting it close but generally Amazon is very close to what they say. Sure enough we got a message that they tried to deliver the parcel but the post office wouldn't accept it. Oh oh.. So Sue got on the phone to UPS and a nice lady took all the information and assured her that yes, something was wrong with the address and they couldn't deliver but the driver would call us within the hour. A couple hours went by and Sue called back and the girls apologized and said the driver would call right back. He did!!! He explained that we had put the address as PO Box General Delivery. As soon as UPS sees the word BOX, it kicks it out of the system. Bobby the driver was really helpful but said it could be delivered to a new address on Monday. Sue said that it was necessary to get it today and told him about us moving on down the road tomorrow. Bobby said, Maam, although we don't normally do this, I'm gonna take it back to the UPS terminal in Victoria and you can pick it up after 6:30 tonight from Mona. Just go to the overhead door and she will be there. So about 6 we headed into Victoria like a big happy family.
Well we got there and just as he said, there was Mona with our box waiting for us. This is a fairly big terminal with about 40 or 50 trucks either loading or parked. I was impressed that they would let us come here to get our parcel. They did, so full marks to UPS!!!
We were hungry so we headed back to the Indianola Marina for supper. There was live music there tonight. Sue had some seafood and I had a big ole greasy cheeseburger. Burp!!!

lots of fishing going on |
Then it was back home to unload and unwrap the new inverter. It is about 60 pounds so I wanted to get it put back in the compartment where it belongs. I will hook it up tomorrow. Good Nite!!!
You do seem to have all the good luck with things!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it all worked out for you two. Safe travels as you move on down the road.
Deb
As a full timer it is definitely UPS and not USPS whenever I can.
ReplyDeleteGlad the pickup worked out for you.
ReplyDeleteWhy do they put Inverter/Chargers in MHs while simply putting Chargers in Trailers for you to install the Inverter yourselves.
Both Kathy and I love the Family Picture.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Great Family picture! Love it and the "Burp". Becky
ReplyDeleteKudos to UPS, it is small things like that that give them stars and references. :)
ReplyDeleteEveryone looks happy with the inverter, even Archie!
