Amazing Service for my Ebike

WHERE ARE WE? Numero Uno RV Park, La Penita, Mexico

This morning I was up at 6 am.  Its crazy that I am still doing this however this morning it was Sue that woke me up cause she was going early to PV to Costco.  Well I was up so I got busy and vacuumed the pool again.  I think we have got on top of it as there was significantly less algae on the bottom and the water was crystal clear.

Today is Joels day to be here and he arrived around 8.  He did a bunch of trimming first and then fired up the lawn mower.  This will probably be the last cut as the heat will soon dry up the grass.

Once it got a little warmer, I headed for the shade to try to get my problem with my ebike figured out.  It has decided not to turn on anymore and I explained the situation via email.  I was amazed when I got these emails back within a half hour.  No questions asked about purchase date, reciepts or nothing.  Wow what kind of service is that.  Our friends George and Henny will pick up the parts at Magnolia Beach on their way down.  It will be great to have it back.  Anyone thinking about an electric bike, I would highly recommend lectric Bikes out of Phoenix for you next purchase.  We have an XP 3.0.

Love the price

With that all fixed I was ready for lunch.  I went to El Pollito for the Higado (liver).  60 pesos or about 4 bucks for a great big lunch.  Mmmmmm

I met up with Jeff and Fany and Max downtown and they came back to the park for a visit.  With this heat, the only place to visit is in the pool.  Oscar joined us as well.

That was it for today.  The clouds came in for a couple hours and took our sunset away.  Oh well there will be one tomorrow.  Good Nite!!

A Nap was in Order Today

WHERE ARE WE? Numero Uno RV Park, La Penita, Mexico

I am still in the get up at 6:30 mode it seems.  Even though we did not have to change our clocks back like everyone else. This is so strange for me as I never get up that early generally.  Oh well, that gives me time to have a coffee and take Archie for a walk on the beach.  He has his little buddies that he has to see along the way.  Scruffy is a scary looking little fellow so hopefully he doesn't have some rare disease that he gives Archie.  They get along about as good as any of the dogs along our walk.

A little later on we got into the pool to give it a good scrub down.  The algae has stuck to the sides so we had to scrub it to let it go to the bottom so we can vacuum it tomorrow.

Kenia and Oscar dropped by after lunch and we all talked about how we were a little tired.  Sue went to lay down and Kenia and I laid the recliners back and that was it for about 2 hours.  We must have been really tired.  When we woke up we looked outside and Oscar was fast asleep on the mat.

About 4:30 they headed out to the Cafecito to open for the evening.  Kenia is open from 5 to 10 or 11 every day.

I headed downtown about 7 pm for a little walk.  Yup the Purple Martins are still around.  I have no idea if they are the same ones every night, or if they are different travellers every day.  We don't see them around in the daytime at all.

I hung around at Kenia's while she was busy making stuff.  She said she almost caught me texting and driving, but that was not the case.  She did make me a strawberry smoothie which was delicious.

That was it for another day.  We had a great sunset from the beach, with a neat after glow from the motorhome a little later.  Good Nite!

We Don't Sit With our Feet Up all the Time!

WHERE ARE WE? Numero Uno RV Park, La Penita, Mexico

Well perhaps not everyone knows about what we are doing in Mexico this year.  The owner of this park has become a very good friend of ours over the years we have been here and was needing someone to be like the camp host or Walmart greeter, so we have agreed to help out for a while.  I say a while, because the park has been sold and we are not quite sure what the intentions of the new owners will be.  We only know that our reservations for this year will be honoured and we will wait to see about next year.  In the meantime Sue and I will be helping where we can with the operation of the park.  This morning I got on my work gloves, (bathing suit) and took on the job of pool maintenance.  It has not had a lot of attention lately because there was no one here to use it, so the filters etc. were full of debris, the chlorine levels were low allowing for some algae growth, and it needed a good vacuuming.  So that's what I did.  Although I have never had a pool, I have watched the operation of this one carefully for a few years, so have a good idea what to do.

chloring a little low, ph was actually good

Skimmer basket half full of debris

Vacuum ready to go

Algae on the bottom

lots of stuff in here

This is the basket from the cyclone

Susan did some sweeping up on the pool deck and then it was time to try it out.  Yup it will be good.  I gave it a good shot of chlorine and will leave the circulation on for 24 hours and it should be fixed.

Archie is loving being here again.  He has free roam of the park and goes where ever or when ever he wants.  There are 9 other dogs in the park right now but they are inside most of the time.  Archie is not a playing dog so he doesn't really interact with any of them.  He is pooped at the end of the day though.  So am I!!!  Good Nite!!

Day of the Dead Parade

WHERE ARE WE? Numero Uno RV Park, La Penita, Mexico

Had to head uptown right after lunch to get me a haircut.  The town is still quite quiet because most of the snowbirds are not here yet and the locals all go uptown after supper when it is cooler.  Anyway I was getting shaggy so had no choice.

Rose insisted that I take a picture even if my eyes were not open.  lol

I spent the afternoon doing what I do best.

There is a Day of the Dead parade in town tonight.  It was supposed to start at 5 but in Mexico that never happens.  We knew that so we decided to have supper while we waited.  About 6:30 we heard the parade coming.  It was a very nice parade with many memorials and many people dressed up in the day of the dead fashion.

pollo fajita

I love the fizzy apple juice.

About 6:30 we heard the parade coming.  It was a very nice parade with many memorials and many people dressed up in the day of the dead fashion.

This is Kenia's friend that was killed last year in a motorcycle accident

The street by where we were watching was full of birds so I went to investigate.  The Purple Martins are back!!!  They were not here last year so I was happy to see them.  Thousands of them on every wire.

After the parade we headed over to the Cafecito and Katherine was there.  There was lots of activity in the Plaza so we took her to enjoy it.

Well that was it for today.  We will try it again tomorrow.  Good Nite from me and Kathrine!!
