Revolution Day here in Mexico

WHERE ARE WE? Numero Uno RV Park, La Penita, Mexico

Today is Revolution Day in Mexico.  It is a holiday full of parades and parties.  This morning there was a parade scheduled for 9 am, so we headed downtown at 10 am and were just in time for the parade.  Parades are very colourful but very slow.  This is a parade for school kids and there are sure a lot of them around here.  We watched for about and hour and a half and then headed for home.  Apparently the parade went on for three and a half hours so I'm glad we didn't stay.

Marching Revolutionaries

These guys had all their ducks in a row

Lots of people along the parade route

Little aviators

Tough soldiers

Just funny old guys

And the pretty dancing girls

More maids a dancing
Even a cute little pony

We watched part of the parade while we ate breakfast

I had some stuff to do this afternoon so I set up my office outside.  The weather has changed and the humidity is not high at all so it is wonderful to sit outside.  I had some forms I had to make up so that's what I did.

Apparently the tide was fairly high during the night because a rouge wave ended up inside our fence.  Sometimes it does spill over the wall but this is the first time this year.

It only has to go another 20 feet to be under RRV.  Oh by the way, I have decided to rename our MH.  Instead of Percy, I'm gonna call it RRV!!  Makes sense doesn't it?

Our resident fisherman Horhay (George) got a little thirsty today so he shinnied up a palm tree to throw down some coconuts.  He didn't have a safety rope or anything but just his bare feet and hands.  He twisted the coconuts off and tossed them down.  He is quite a character.

Susan found a neat bug in the pool this afternoon.  It was about the size of a dime and looked like a crab from the top but on the bottom it had a spider type body.  We were a little worried to touch it so she tossed it in the hedge.

I headed downtown in the evening to check out the goings on.  There was music blaring everywhere and I just missed seeing the horses dancing.  They were still around however.

Kenia was hard at work along with Oscar.  Lots of customers tonight.  Abuela and I visited for a little while and then it was home time.

Although there was no official sunset, the sky was very pretty.  Good Nite!!
