New Friends From Bayfield Ontario

WHERE ARE WE? Numero Uno RV Park, La Penita, Mexico

The other day the electical box of Jon and Terry's motorhome gave up the ghost so I told them I would fix it for them while they were away in PV for a while.  Well today was the day to do it.  Somehow the hot wire had got hot and shorted out and burned the wire off of the one post of the breaker box.

Lucky for me, the breaker was salvageable and with a little bit of Mexican wiring I got it back together and working good.  I think the original wire was too small to create the heat.  Hopefully no more problems.

About 3 pm a familiar grey Sprinter van rolled into the park.  It was Drew and Leena and they are here for a few days.  They are always fun to have around and we look forward to some time with them.

Shortly after Drew and Leena's arrival,  Darren and Katherine texted us to tell us that there was a turtle release happening by the Malecon downtown.  We headed down to meet up with them and watch it.  I am always amazed by the fact that these turtles will return to this very spot in 25 years to lay their eggs, but only if they survive.  Only about 1 in 1000 babies actually make it to adulthood.  Its crazy to think that maybe that one is in the group released today.

When it was over we decided to go to Irma's for supper and Drew and Leena met us there.  In our conversation we were surprised to learn that Darren and Kathrine are from Bayfield Ontario.  I showed them the picture of Al who writes the blog Travel With The Bayfield Bunch, and Darren said that he thought he has seen Al around. I wonder if Al would recognize Darren??  It is a small world!!  We had a yummy supper before heading home for a swim and some TV and bed.  It was a hot, tiring day so we were in bed early. Good Nite!

  1. Normally it is the smaller wires that will heat up first.
