Most mornings a boat pulls up to the beach in front of our place and guys appear to load palm fronds on to the front of the boat. They use them for their fishing somehow but I haven't really figured it out yet. I guess a prairie boy will never figure out how life goes in an ocean town.
It was Joel's day to be here working. He works for 5 hours on Monday and Thursday. He works really hard and is a good kid. I guess he is not a kid because I'm guessing he is in his 40s. He shows up with a wheelbarrow full of tools and goes to work. It is hot here and he just keeps plugging away. Today one of his jobs was to scrub the pool cover. The temperatures will soon start to plummet here and we need the pool covered. Well the temperatures will be going down to about 20C at night before only recovering to about 28 or so in the daytime. Not exactly skidoo suit weather but it will take an extra minute to get into the pool!!! lol
Kenia keeps us up to date with the happenings on the movie set. Today she was hanging with some actor who is being filmed here at La Penita.
I was too hungry to hang around so I went to my favorite dinner spot for liver and onions. Mmmm. Today they had a different drink. It is called Tamaringo. It is very tasty and made from a fruit called Tamarind. I looked it up on google and found out that it is a mild laxative!! Oh great, just what I need.
After lunch I headed down to the movie set to see what was going on. They had 8 boats of people out in the water driving around and a drone overhead filming. I have no idea what the story line is so don't know what's going on.
The lead boat did have a statue of Jesus standing in the front of the boat pointing out to sea!! Perhaps something to do with him calming the storm.
About then I decided to head for home in case the Tamaringo started kicking in. So far so good. Sunsets are just so so these days, but there always seems to be one. Just about missed this one. Good Nite!!
