Today we are picking up some more friends from the airport and they will be staying with us for 3 months. Ken and Rhonda arrive today about 3 pm on a flight from Calgary. They actually started their trip in Saskatoon at (Like Kevin says) silly o'clock. Before we picked them up we had a couple hours to kill so we stopped at Sam's Club to pick up a couple things. We were hungry so we ordered some food from the food place outside the store. When we gave our order I looked around and there was only the girl taking the orders and another girl in the whole kitchen. Neither one of them was interested in doing any of the food stuff, but rather just played on their phones. I kept watching and nothing was happening. We were going to leave but after about 30 minutes 3 more ladies showed up and things started to fire up. We think they all were on lunch break. Anyway, after about and hour we got our hamburger and the chicken fingers Sue ordered turned into a hot dog. We were not about to send it back so she ate it anyway.
Once we had rescued Ken and Rhonda we made a stop at La Cromer. I had never been in there before and it is quite interesting. You grab a cart on the bottom floor and go up this escalator with it to the next floor. There is a magnet that holds your cart solid on the incline both going up and going down. The girls made like ours was on a runaway.
The store was actually quite large inside and has all of the things the gringos would ever want. The prices are not great but what the heck. It had a very interesting fish market and a great big fish in the middle of the display. I still like our fish back in La Penita.
By the time we got done shopping we had a mean hunger on. Now I now you should not go shopping on an empty stomach but we did. We actually restrained ourselves quite well. So we decided on a little restaurant in Bucerias but as we pulled up, they were putting the tables away so we decided to head on down the road to Sayulita. Good choice!! We found a neat little sidewalk restaurant that had really great food and spent an hour or so chatting and eating. It was a good place for Rhonda and Kens first Mexican supper.
We got back to the park and the kids (Jeff and Fany) had fixed up the welcome sign for them. We didn't do it earlier because it was raining. Thanks for doing it guys. Welcome to the your winter paradise!!
We finished the night with Archie watching a movie with us. Little bum is normally at the neighbours but tonight he stayed home. Good Nite!!
