We checked the weather while we were there and it looks like it will be quite nice.
After we got all caught up with the blog, we decided to take a right at the fork in the road instead of the left to Telephone Cove. It took us down a narrow winding road which even I admitted that I wouldn’t bring the Ponderosa down.
At the bottom was the most gorgeous little cove with a fire pit and even a chair. It was so secluded and private. You could get here with a truck camper if you wanted but that was about it.
There was a trail there so I walked to the top of the ridge to see what was on the other side. What a pretty view of the Colorado River.
On the other side was the neat little road that brought us here. Glad we took the right fork in the road.
When we got back Charlie had a couple visitors to play with. There are lots of dogs in this campground.
We also noticed a couple of tame ducks floating around with all the Mallards. The male looks like he may be a cross with a Mallard only much larger. He does have the green head.
I got busy and got the kayak blown up and in the water. We have not had much chance to use it this winter so was fun to get it out. You can buy one on Amazon here if you like.
Happy hour was nice and we saw the sunsets reflection on the mountains across the lake in the mountains.
We ended the evening with a nice bonfire and when we looked down the lake shore there were lots of other fires twinkling in the dark.
Here is the view out our window today. We are a little bit crowded but do have a lake view out the other window.
