We had our morning happy hour before disbanding and heading out to dump and fuel before heading north. We will be leaving P & H behind to finish up with their solar install, and Chuck and Angela are still planning their route into California. If the stars line up right, they may follow us in a few days.
Off we went and it wasn’t long before we were getting into some pretty mountain scenery. Highway 95 in California is narrow and loaded with trucks. It is a great highway, but not a relaxing drive because of lots of traffic on a narrow road.
It wasn’t long and we were on the old Route 66 in Needles CA. Lots of signs and I love when they paint the Route 66 in the highway.
Followed the old Needles Highway to the Junction of 163, then turned north for about a mile and then a hard right onto a dirt trail. They tell us it is about a 4.5 mile drive down to the camping spot. A narrow winding road with some nasty hills with big bumps in them. I had to be really careful not to rearrange the entire motor home on the way down.
When we finally got there after taking about a half hour to drive the 4 miles, the place was really full. We parked and the first person we talked to said they were leaving in the morning, and they invited us to park right beside them. Everyone here is prepared to have close neighbours which allows everyone access to the beach.
I pulled the Ponderosa up beside him. We even left room for Kyra when she arrives. I snapped a picture from the drivers seat before shutting things down.
It wasn’t long and Kyra showed up and we parked her right beside us. She will move in the morning when our neighbour leaves.
It wasn’t long and somebody spotted some dust and the “Bird” made an appearance. This was truly a “She’ll be comin round the mountain when she comes!!” moment. Ed and Lessie have just confirmed to us that they can do anything. This was a tough road and they could have refused to come, but they didn’t!!! We are so glad to have them here.
We have a beautiful spot under a Cottonwood tree with a beach front patio.
For my friends Bill and Patsy, here is how close real friends park. Lol
Have you ever looked at the Arizona Flag? We found out why the flag is like it is. Check out this sunset.
Sue and I took a trip into Bull Head City for groceries and took a couple pictures of the Casino’s on the Strip in Laughlin NV. Pretty at night.
View from our window tonight:
