Sunday Morning Birria

WHERE ARE WE? Numero UNO RV Park, La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

Today a bunch of us headed down to Abuela's for Birria.  It is becoming a Sunday morning tradition.  I still have a bit of a problem filling my tummy with beef stew so early in the morning.  The Mexicans eat big meals in the morning and are used to this.  It is sure delicious.

This picture shows what we see lots of on our street.  Dogs, cats, chickens, and baby chicks.

It was a warm day and we swam a few times today.  Drew and I even had a little cool off swim about 8 pm.  The water is nice and warm.  Good Nite!!

The Kids Flew Back to Regina Today

WHERE ARE WE? Numero UNO RV Park, La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

For some reason, the estuary decided to turn green with tiny leaves.  I have never seen this before, however they tell me it is like this for most of the summer.  I wonder if it gets to smelling.  So far, it doesn't.

We are at the height of Semana Santa now, and this is what the beach looks like in Guayabitos.  We just don't bother going there.  Our beach has a few people, but is quite good.

After lunch we all loaded up and headed to PV to drop the kids off at the plane.  They like to be early and I wanted to allow lots of time for me to get back before dark.  Dani had to get some snuggles with Rudy before leaving.

The roads were not busy at all.  I think everyone was at the beach.  Every little town had lineups of buses parked waiting to transport everyone back to their hotels at the end of the day.  I dropped Kenia off at Sams Club on the way to the airport so she could get her shopping done while I dropped off the kids.  Even the airport was not that busy so we just stopped on the corner and they got out.  Their plane is delayed a bit so they have a long wait in the airport.  We had 6 people and all that luggage in the Jeep for the ride down.

When I got back to Sams, Kenia was just going through the till, so we loaded up the Jeep and headed for home.

Once again, the road was empty and we made jig time going home.  We dumped off a bunch of stuff at the Cafecito and then took the rest to Kenia's casa.

The kids sent me various updates on their time at the airport.  Sheri is suffering a burn on her forehead so I sent her a picture back of my beet red face.  Ouch!!

It is Ken and Rhonda's last night here, so they invited us to supper at Mi Lugar up on the hill.  It is the sunset watching restaurant in La Penita.  Drew and Leena and Wade and Melissa were there as well.  The sun did not co-operate but the company was spectacular.

We spent some time visiting when we all got back to the park and had more laughs.  What a great bunch we have had at the park this year!!  Archie went home to bed and Sue got a picture of him guarding the chips.  Good Nite!

P.S.  Sheri reported that they arrived in Regina at about 2 am Regina time.

Another Day in Paradise

WHERE ARE WE? Numero UNO RV Park, La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

Yup, Archie and I went for a wee walk this morning.  If I delay in taking him for too long he will begin to bunt me with his nose and bark at me until I give in and go.  He has his little friends that he likes to visit with on the beach, and of course he has to remark his territory every day.

When we got back we were sitting around and Frank spotted the fake tarantula on our screen.  He, of course, has seen a tarantula before but didn't realize right away that this one was fake.  We had a little fun with him before he figured it out.  Sorry Frank!!

We had a little beach time again today before it was supper time.

Sue had cooked up a yummy roast and potatoes and carrots for supper at Dani's request.  It was a yummy supper and there will even be leftovers for me!

After supper we all headed down to Kenia's Cafecito for treats.  Donovan still had room for a crepe even after the big supper.

The church is next door to the Cafecito so we got to see some of the Good Friday celebrations.  They marched past with a replica of the body of Jesus on a stretcher and took him and placed him at the front of the church.  They go to a lot of work to re-enact the crucifixion and burial.  Because it is such a reverend time, I only got one quick picture.

Our sunset was nice again tonight and it is getting close to setting behind the island.  Our time here is growing short.

Before I hit the sack, I got a couple photo's of the casa and pool in our park.  It is very pretty!!  Good Nite!!

The Market is Slowing Down

WHERE ARE WE? Numero UNO RV Park, La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

Archie and I had our normal walk on the beach this morning.  He likes to go to the estuary and then races back and waits at the gate for me.  Some times he is a little impatient to get in the gate and scratches away.

After the walk, we all headed down town to the market.  There certainly are a lot less vendors there now.  I sat and waited while everyone did their shopping.

I had to stop at the bank and it was quite busy today.  There are lots of people around down town, just not that many at the market.

Lots of swimming this after noon and then about 5 the Skipbo came out.  The kids had a great time playing and they were pretty good at it.

Everyone went home played out again today.  Good Nite!!

Out for a Drive Today

WHERE ARE WE? Numero UNO RV Park, La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

Today Karl and Suzie headed north.  They pulled out about 9:30 and wound their way down the narrow street.

We are gonna miss them and wish them a safe trip north.  They will not be back next year because they have new adventures to go on.  Everyone turned out to say goodbye.  Thanks for spending time with us.

A bunch of us decided to kinda follow them down the street because we were all going for a fresh fruit juice from the lady on the corner.  She makes the most yummy treats.

Of course Dani had to pet all her dogs along the way.

Sheri and Donovan wanted to take a tour up into the mountains and Sue was not feeling good today, so it was just the three of us as we headed out.

We headed first to the town of Alta Vista which is on the side of a mountain.  Quite the view from up there.

Lots of flowers in that town.  Also we checked out some banana trees along the way.  I think they enjoyed going up there.

After that we headed south of town to El Monteon to check out the pineapple fields and then ended up at the bridge with the turtles.  We did get a picture of one, but spooked the most of them as we drove up.  Donovan sat and waited but they never re-appeared.

The kids were agast when they saw a National Guard truck with a machine gun mounted on the top going down the road.  We have sort of got used to that sort of thing.  No big deal.

We all headed down to Kenia's for some treats tonight.  She has got her place all decorated nicely for Easter. She seems to be very busy which is good.  We had some frappes.  Sheri even had to take over for a couple minutes while Kenia went for ice!!

We now have a hole in the RV park where our friends were for the winter.  It is that time of year when everyone moves along.

We captured a couple beauties on the beach for sunset.  We are sure enjoying their company!  Good Nite!!
