Dancing the Night Away

WHERE ARE WE? Romantic Escapes RV Park, La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico
NEXT DESTINATION? Guadalajara, Mexico April 1, 2020

Another warm day spent sitting in the shade and swimming in the pool  It is so nice to just jump in and cool off.  The water is about 28C so is quite nice.  In the afternoon, Joel and Louise from the other RV park had invited us to come play washer toss with everyone.  We headed up there about 3 in the afternoon and had a great time with everyone losing at washer toss.

After Washer toss is Hamburger night so we stayed for that as well.  This will be the last official one for this year so it was good to see everyone.  Brian and JoLynn work really hard to make these events a success and they keep the bar in ship shape as well.  Thanks guys for all you do.  We will be travelling with them when we leave La Penita at the end of the month.

Cecie and her crew do a great job feeding everyone in the park.  She always has a smile and a kind Spanish word for everyone.  She makes us all learn some Spanish from time to time.  Her daughter Karen is always around to help along with other family members.  Cecie was one of the first relationships we had with the local people here and we love her and her family a lot.

And of course Kenia and Andreas.  Andreas is the resident RV repair guy in the park and does a lot of trouble shooting.  He is a Manana kind of guy but does get it done in the end.  And Kenia of course is the cake girl at hamburger night.  She sure knows how to bake cakes.

There are 95 senior high school students in the park for the long weekend and man do they know how to have fun.   On hamburger night we always have a DJ and it was no different tonight so he played some Mexican dance music and the kids danced like there was no tomorrow.  Now they all realized that this was a seniors park and they respected that by not taking over the party but rather joining the party.  Very respectful.  They danced in the pool and on the dance floor and with the park residents and they really to a liking to Kit when they found out she was 89 years old.  Kit loves to dance and every young gentleman that could got her up to dance.  Every time they got in a circle to dance, they put Kit in the middle.  It was heart warming.  Kenia and Sue even joined them for a bit.

What a great night we had dancing with the kids and watching them dance.  They are so high energy and dancing seems to create a common spirit in their culture.  There was no worries about corona from this group and they made all of us forget about it for a while as well.   We headed for home around La Penita Midnight!!  (8:30) lol  Hope you take time to smile a bit as well.

  1. You old ones got to see the energy of the young ones. That's always refreshing. 8:30 is kind of early though.
