Wanda Gives us a Little Scare!!

WHERE ARE WE? Numero UNO RV Park, La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

Today we had concerns for our friend Wanda who has been experiencing some increasing pain in her right side for the last couple days.  Today it was bad enough that we got Kenia to see if we could take her to Dr Miguel Fernandez (we know him as Alejandra) in Las Ayala.  He is a real professional and we have a lot of trust in him.  We know him and his wife and children through Kenia who is a friend of theirs.  Anyway Alejandra immediately diagnosed appendicitis and started Wanda on IV and lined up a surgeon in Tepic to do surgery as soon as she arrived in Tepic.  Sue and Irwin drove her the 2 hours there and she had a successful surgery on arrival.  Apparently it had perforated but there were no complications. We expect her home here in the park, tomorrow afternoon.  We are so thankful that all went well and look forward to her smiling face once again in our midst.

If you need a Dr. in this area, he is the one.

Tepic is up the 200 which is a narrow winding road and requires the driver to use both hands and pay close attention to what is around the next bend.  Sue said Irwin did well at the driving.

Meanwhile the rest of us had to just wait it out!!  Some (Karl) even had a little nap while waiting for news on Wanda.

Kenia came over for a bit and inquired if I noticed anything different about her.  I made mention of the eyelashes and the hat but apparently her friend gave her a little botox lip treatment!!  She says, What do you think?   Crazy kid.

We had to go downtown about 4:30 to move the cafecito back from its hiding place after the market.

She sets the front on a big cement block that I can't even lift.  Kenia might be small, but she is mighty!! She reminds me of Mia back home!!

I always like to think about my family and friends back home and figure out helpful things for them.  After a bunch of research I have found a solution to heat in a EV in winter.  I should send it to the idiot in Ottawa to see if this would be carbon neutral.

I did say maybe I wouldn't show this picture but I have to.  Rhonda and Ken were out enjoying a romantic sunset on the beach when we all descended on them and we all brought our yappy dogs including Rudy, who was extra full of p and vinegar.   He was tearing around like a mad man flinging sand all over everyone, which Rhonda said was kinda irritating her to start with.  The romantic sunset was now a glimmer in the past with all the commotion.  To top it all off, Rudy ran and jumped in the ocean and came right up beside Rhonda and yup.... you guessed it.  Shake shake!!!  He could have picked anywhere or anyone, but he chose her.  She tried to be mad but as you can see by her impish smile, she knew she was beat.  Check out the spray pattern in the sand.  She got drenched.  I'm sorry Rhonda, but the story could not go untold.

The day did end with a lovely sunset and a text from Sue that Wanda was out of surgery and doing well.  Life is good!!!  Good Nite!
