A Trip to the Hot Tubs

WHERE ARE WE? Numero UNO RV Park, La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico

Wanda and Irwins holidays are slipping away quite quickly and there is still things they would like to do.  They went whale watching yesterday and saw lots of whales.  Today we are going to visit the Aguas Termales hot pools.  These are true Mexican hot pools and the drive in from the highway separates the men from the boys.  It is 12 kms after you leave the pavement of cobblestones, dirt, holes and rocks and takes almost an hour to drive in.  The scenery along the way is amazing.  When you get there, it is worth every bump of the ride.  Maybe they won't agree. lol

Lots of interesting things along the road and you have to be careful of oncoming traffic.   We arrived about 11:30 and got a hot tub big enough for all of us.  We spent about 3 hours telling bad stories and lounging in the pool.  The water was just a little under 100F so even I could sit in it for quite a while.

The trip back was a little bit quicker and we got to see some interesting things along the way.  There were lots of cattle in the mountains as we travelled and we had to yield the road to some cattle on the move as well.  One spot they were set up to do some branding.

There was a sign in by some really pretty flowers.  The sign had directions to a bunch of well known places as well as some not so well known places along this road.

And there is a cute little town along the way named....... yes you will be singing it for a long time in your head!!!

When we got back to the paved road, we took a right turn and headed up the mountain to Altavista.  This little town is built on the side of the mountain and has an awesome view down over the delta to the ocean.  Everything in the town is on a hill and as you drive the narrow streets you look down on the roofs of the houses one tier below you.

For some reason I was really impressed with all the flowers and their radiant colours.  We even saw poinsettia trees with flowers on them.  I did not know they were actually a tree.

No idea what these other flowering trees were, but they were pretty.

On the way back we stopped by Lucy Pizza and ordered one to go.  I went back later on the bike to pick it up.  It was delicious.

Tonight is moving night for the Cafecito.  Tomorrow is market day so Kenia and I have to move it around the corner for the early part of the day.  Kenia has been sick for the last 3 or 4 days and still has that stuffy sound when she talks.  The poor kid just keeps on working.  We are quite proud of her for her work ethic.  Another day tomorrow so Good Nite!!

Sorry but this is an old photo but it is what we did today.

Such vibrant colours, I’m always amazed to see them in the winter.
