We had a fun day planned today. Someone had said that the market in San Poncho was different and more of an artisan thing. Karl and Suzie said they were going to jump on their motorbike and go, so we thought we might go too in the Jeep. There are 4 seats in the Jeep, so we invited Normand and Suzanne along. Off we went on our 24 km tour. First thing we had to do was watch a performance by our local clown at the stop light. He is soooo entertaining and gets a tip from everyone every time we see him. We don't mind tipping someone who does something to earn it.
When we got to San Poncho the streets were crowded.
We finally found a place to park in a public parking area. Parking was at a premium and some parking spots were very tight!!
We walked about 1 block south and 4 blocks west down the street toward the beach looking for the actual market. We asked and they said it was about 3 blocks east and 1 block north so off we went. We will get our exercise today for sure. We walked up the the market and it was artisan and not that big. There was this neat way of making coffee. I'm not sure the coffee in a tin tub was that great.
And of course some cows ears for the dogs. We actually bought a couple cows feet for Archie.
We saw a couple nice things and then I said I would take the things to the jeep. I went out the back of the market into a parking lot and there was our yellow jeep. Not 100 feet from the market after we had walked all that way to find it. Lol. Anyway we headed downtown for lunch. Saw this almost Japanese style house on the way. Very pretty.
San Poncho and San Francisco are one and the same town. They have grown into each other I guess. Anyway San Francisco boasts the Golden Gate Bridge for tourist purposes and we fell right into the trap.
Also the girsl took the advantage of the pretty Valentines balloons for a picture.
Also we like to smile when we see the holiday gringos walking the street with their lily white skin and bright red arms and neck. I bet they hurt that first night.
We had lunch at a nice little restaurant. Lots of laughs.
We had a little dog come to visit us at lunch and he was the spitting image of Archie. He even had the Corgie legs!!
A fun picture of Normand!
We headed for home with a few stops for tours of pineapple fields. We still have lots to learn about growing pineapples but we are slowly learning. You can see the little pineapples forming on these plants. We brought one home that was lying on the ground.
There were workers in one field pulling some plants and placing them upside down on some others to dry. Apparently after a week they collect the upside down ones and plant them somewhere.
We bought some Sandias from this truck. He had a neat way of advertising how red and ripe they were.
I always seem to find things that create questions in my mind. Here is one that I saw today of a row of power meters on the side of a building and said "WHY, just why!!" Am I just overthinking things?
Archie was glad to see us back home again. He is so good in the Motorhome while we are away but is very happy to see us when we get back.
I tried a couple different things with the sunset tonight. It is kinda neat to look for different ways to photo it! Good Nite!!
Looks like you are living large! Good for you folks 👏
