Market, Doctor, Lunch

WHERE ARE WE? La Penita, Mexico

When Sue left Manitoba last weekend, she brought with her a fresh supply of medications, or so she thought.  Well she was missing a few so got Kenia to set her up a Dr Appointment in Las Ayala.  We have been to him a couple times before for medical issues and he speaks english and is a good Dr. we feel.  We arrived for Sues 1:30 appointment and he was running behind just like any typical clinic.  She got out after some blood work and such with a prescription for the stuff she needed.  She did find out that some of the medication stuff is available down here without a prescription.

Doc has some neat model Volkswagens on his front counter.  They had all been done up with beadwork.

I guess I should back up a bit, because we went to the doctor, we visited the Guayabitos Market to get some bread and pasta sauce. I always like this market because it has lots of colourful stuff to look at.

Christo and Kenia were joining us for lunch today so we all went to Alex's restaurant after the Dr. Appointment.  Rafie and Diago were working today again. If you remember a few days ago we came here for supper with Tina and the whole family.

About the time we ordered lunch, a young lady came along selling massages.  Kenia has had a sore neck after all the dancing at the big party for Karen the other night so she decided to get one.

She did a thing where she wound up a strand of hair and then gave it a little tug.  Kenia was brave at first but after a few of them she was starting to feel it.

Then the forehead and the chin.  She was getting a real workover.

The last thing was linking arms and tugging Kenia up in the air.  Fun to watch.  Kenia said she felt really good afterwards.  150 pesos, so about 10 bucks.

Lunch was great and mine came cooked in a tinfoil bag and was fish and veggies.

I guess it was Siesta time because the couple at the next table finished their lunch and laid a towel on the sand and both laid down and went to sleep for about 15 minutes.  How nice!!!  People walked around them and over them and the kids at the beach were screaming but they just had the most peaceful nap ever.

We headed for home with full tummies and sat and watched the ocean with some friends for a while.  Our local fisherman George (horhay) was just heading out to check his nets.  Hope he gets lots.

It wasn't long and the sunset snuck up on us.  I did an angle picture like the kids do with their selfies.  They say it puts a different perspective on things.  I say it makes my neck sore twisting my head to look at it!!!   Good Nite!!

  1. Kenia is brave to get a massage with people watching.
I think your drink was too strong, the sunset is beautiful but crooked. Haha, selfies are like that!
